And by doing it over 12 months, that's a year when shorts might decide to target elsewhere. So long, see ya honey.....

An interesting sentence in the RNS is this -
" This agreement includes provisions giving BMO Capital Markets Limited authority to carry out market purchases under the Programme independently."

The point here is that it appears to avoid the effect of close periods in the calendar when the company cannot initiate buy-backs because there is significant unpublished data. Close periods would constitute periods of risk when the company could be a sitting duck to further share price manipulation and attack. The independence of BMO means that they can continue to apply pre-agreed criteria for buybacks at any time throughout the year.

EH9 note this is a 12 month programme
'
Programme will be 48,110,871 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company,...

The Programme will be undertaken using a phased approach and have a duration of 12 calendar months, subject to the buyback approval resolution being approved at the Company's next Annual General Meeting in respect of any purchases to be made after the date of that meeting

Estimate roughly average of one in six shares per trading day will be buy back see post 5408

It cannot fall again since there are 48m shares to be bought prior to the agm. Don't you get it? The shorts are dead as there is a more powerful buy bot at bmo capital markets working against the down bots.

Its not only the shorters attack that has brought the price down.Ames Capital have also been off loading and are now below 3% as per todays RNS..Dont think they will off load any more now which should help Pays share price progress on its upward trajectory.

Question. Are BMO allowed to stand in the market for a significant quantity at an elevated price to clear out the shorts and attack their current margins?

FWIW

Buy Back is 48,110,871 shares over 12 months or roughly 180,000 per trading day

Using ADVFN data for 2016 the Daily Trading Volume Stats are:-
Q3______4,695,783
Median__2,650,049 Middle of sorted sample
Q1______1,681,974

If each deal is a discrete buy or sell then very roughly one in six buys per day will be a share buy back
