I like the fundamentals for PAY but note that the directors do not seem to have any of their own money invested here and Asteriscos Patrimonial SL, whoever they are, have 29%.

@Vike. Forget that, its all about charting. PAY typically goes up into the divi and its goes down after, normally topping just before and it’s got a great trading range. The spreads way too big for individuals to worry about whats being bought and sold, I dont use L2 and never will, its all a manipulation.

@Cash Why wouldn’t you trade in and out of the fluctuations ? Buy and hold is a mugs game, never realises profits and regardless that PAY has got a great divi it still doesn’t beat real inflation (not CPI lie).

Some1 wants to sell 4,500 shares at 492 so would need a bigger buyer for it to go higher today as i understand it and not many buyers i wonder if it may go lower first

Nope. L2 is for trading, trying to benefit from fluctuations. It's not for me.

Yep love its trading range, easy to predict every time it fails to break out to a new high you know its going to give another accumulation opportunity. MA200 doesnt look like it will hold but i dont think its going to give up a lot more

Yeah, i would be tempted to add more as well.I can see this easily going back to 800 but might take another year or two and the debt paid down significantly.

PAY are a depressing share sometimes. Stuck solidly in this 460 - 550 channel despite the flurry of good news, good financials and a 7% dividend. Even the excellent Royal Mail news has failed to move the share price and the market cap has fallen over 10% on recent good news?Would hate to see what would happen on any genuine bad news.

PayPoint and Royal Mail announce partnership
22 February 2024

PayPoint Plc is pleased to announce a partnership with Royal Mail across its Collect+ network, the leading Out of Home (OOH) parcel pick up, drop off and send service in the UK. The multi-year agreement will enable parcel drop off for Royal Mail customers at 5,000 Collect+ stores in communities across the UK by the summer. The partnership will provide Royal Mail customers with access to a range of services via PayPoint’s retailer partners. The partnership will support Royal Mail’s strategy to expand its OOH reach and local network, providing customers with a range of flexible choices for dropping off parcels and meeting growing demand for additional delivery, collection and drop-off options.

Nick Wiles, CEO of PayPoint, said:“We are delighted that Collect+ will be playing a key role in our partnership with Royal Mail. As consumer channel shift continues to move towards Out of Home (OOH), our fantastic retailer partners will now have an even greater opportunity to serve the needs of their customers in communities across the UK through our leading OOH network. We remain fully committed to investing further in the in-store consumer experience, through technology and operational support for our retailer partners, as well as continuing to grow our Collect+ network to service the strong growth in this area.”

Martin Seidenberg, CEO of International Distributions Services, said : “As customer preferences have evolved, Royal Mail has already opened up a variety of new ways for customers to access its services, including more online postage options through our website and app, 24/7 drop off at locations like parcel postboxes and collection from home through Royal Mail Parcel Collect. This partnership is an important part of our strategy to make our services even more convenient for customers and to expand our Out of Home offering to provide additional locations for our customers to use our services.”

Yes sounds like PayPoint gradually taking over all the post office services - I guess better IT, although surely a limit to how much these shops can take on without additional staff and training.

Tip of the iceberg in terms of revenue over the next few years. You can bet Royal Mail is going to close down more post offices to cut costs, if they can send people to Paypoint Stores.Right now just drop-off services, but to come probably the full range of post office services.
