https://citywire.com/funds-insider/news/expert-view-pets-at-home-paypoint-osb-johnson-harbour-energy/PayPoint is too cheap, says LiberumPayment services group PayPoint (PAY) is 'too cheap' given its strong position on the high street and positive business momentum, says Liberum.Analyst Joe Brent retained his 'buy' recommendation and target price of £11 on the stock, which was trading at £5.57 on Thursday. An operational update from the group indicated 'continued positive momentum in all divisions', said Brent, with first-quarter results confirming a positive start to the year. The first quarter saw shopping as a 'continued site growth', excellent volume growth in e-commerce, and further strength in the uptake of Love2shop gift cards. However, there was slow growth in payments and banking over the three months.'We maintain our earnings and net debt estimates. The target of £100m Ebitda [earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation] in full-year 2026 suggests earnings per share of 88p,' said Brent.'PayPoint's position on the high street differentiates it in the crowded payment space: the current year 2024 price/earnings of 7.6 times and an ordinary yield of 7.7% are too cheap.'

With Liontrust reducing their interest from 11pc to 6pc good to see share price so buoyant. No doubt we will get a RNS telling us the new owners.

For me a reassuring update. My reading is that the share price will be becalmed in the coming months.

Liberum-
FY 23 results were in line with 9% organic net revenue growth; and for the first time we saw growth in all three divisions. We make 5 key points: 1) The Q1 update confirmed a positive start to FY 24 which helps to underpin forecasts; 2) A new target of £100m of EBITDA in FY 26 suggests fully diluted EPS of 88p, 12% above our estimate; 3) The well-executed M&A strategy over the past 3 years has reshaped the group; 4) PayPoint is expanding its addressable universe and the growth business lines could be c.76% of group net revenue in FY 24; and 5) FY 24 net debt/EBITDA of 0.9x and strong cash flow generation gives management cash allocation options, such as investing for organic growth, more dividends, or buybacks. A CY 24 P/E of 7.6x and dividend yield of 7.7% are attractive. Key points FY 23 organic revenue growth of 9%; growth in every division. Acquired intangible amortisation now taken below the line. Net debt of £72m a good result. Value drivers Target of £100m of EBITDA in FY 26 suggests FD EPS of 88p, 12% upside to our current estimate. FY 24 net debt/EBITDA of 0.9x gives cash allocation options. What market misses Cautious 3% FY24 growth est. Growth business lines could be c. 76% of group this year (FY 24). M&A has reshaped the business. Mind the contingent liabilities. Is there value? TP of £11.00 gives 103% upside based on a DCF; WACC of 8.7%. £150m of divs in 5 years to 24E. CY 24 P/E of 7.6x and dividend yield of 7.7% are attractive.

I think your strategy is sound, especially with the capital gain you made but I don't think the share price will go back to that 450 level unless there is a general market pull back or some sort of market collapse/drop. Well, i hope it doesn't and there is no real reason it should. Divi still 6.5% ish and well covered with sensible dividend policy going forward. P/E only 8 or so. Growth prospects are good, fcf and revenues are up and now the take over of appreciate is complete the company might start to see some gains from it.Time will tell, meanwhile i will keep taking the quarterly dividend and reinvesting it.

The spread between buying & selling getting wider and wider each day . Anyone notice this - reason I would presume down to Low volume . Spread about 4% - incredible , anyone buying or selling get slaughtered

Not so sure. I think this has more to do with the wider market sell off and the weakness in the ftse 100.

Yep, always gonna happen. I sold 2/3 just a fraction too early but no-one gets the top/bottom spot on. I’m at 50% now and will look to accumulate again around 460-480 which i reckon has a high probability by October

He's hoping for 750p. I've seen that there are four brokers covering PAY (marketscreener.com). The lowest being 476, the highest being 1100 with the average being 656/657. It is worth pointing out that the lowest and highest targets were well before the latest TU of 28 July. However, in my mind, the low target was blown away on 28 July.

Interesting article in Master Investor. Talks about estimates and Lberium’s target of 1100. That looks a bit high to me, but I think £8 or £9 are quite possibly possible which could be a PEG of just over 1 on next year’s estimated EPS I have a pretty full unit so I am unlikely to add unless the share price falls. So just a holder at present.

Yesterday was a very high volume trading day. On an individual deal basis of the 201 deals of both, Buys and Sells, there were 5 valued over £30 million (max £310,034,154) with a further 9 above £1 million whilst some 39 were valued at under £5,000.
.
Two pairs. of a buy and a sell , were each roughly matched at c £310m each. Big deals, both Buys and Sells, accounted for over 94% of value changing hands and usually appeared in the afternoon. trading,

IF my rough uncertain research on Asteriscos Patrimonial SLU, the largest shareholder, in Spain is correct , A computer search on the name produced pretty pictures and text on the style of the company but was thin on figures and facts. A late afternoon friendly phone enquiry to financial library source gave the financial data. But has not been cross checked . However it is unlikely to be a takeover bidder, small company with turnover around 30 million euros and very few employees.

On finance data found for ,Asteriscos Patrimonial SLU, with holding 28% of the shares of a company with their possible enterprise value of £100 miliion, I find this a difficult match in major shreholder role IMHO It is an enigma to be treated with care until more is known.

No Smart Fool will make any hostile bid until clearer picture of the performance of Appreciate amalgamated in the Full Year Account
