You've also got to be in it to win it.

Funding must be close one way or another.

Thanks for the intent Forwood - I wasn’t looking to understand charting per se, more the principles behind it that you are using and to get your perspective on what the upside may be. Am I correct in thinking that if there are indicators that suggest it’s going to go one way then you look at resistance points in that direction only and don’t then look beyond that (ie how much it may turn back on the upside)? So it only ever looks forward to where a trend will change, not the potential size of the change when the trend turns? I’m struggling to understand why chartists can’t give a downside view and a subsequent upside view once the downside view occurs? Make sense? Cheers for trying to help Forwood.

There used to be a poster with fingers xxd as their handle on advfn, used to do the best charts I have seen with requests and commentary. Not sure if they are still around. See bb link below

Saget, stockcharts will explain and show you how to do that. If you're asking for sites that do it automatically, they exist but I don't use them so can't recommend. It's not difficult, even with the charts here on advn, where using the tools on the left of the chart, you can draw in lines to heart's content!

The same principles about longer timescale indicators being more powerful than shorter ones applies, eg a trendline on a daily chart is going to mean more than one based on an hourly chart.

Thank you Forwood and is there any website that you would recommend for identifying and plotting trends on stock charts?

Hi unlikely2 - this idea has been around formally for at least a decade, and was debated for another decade before that. It's not costed, not permitted and, most crucially, not funded. Nobody wishes to put their hand in their pocket and pay for the construction of this pipeline (plus gas treatment and liquefaction plants), least of all the Alaskan electorate. I note Congress is offering a loan guarantee for about 60% of the ballpark cost, so the onus is still on the private sector (and thus banks?) to come up with the cash.

Once it's *fully funded* and has passed all legal and environmental challenges, I've committed to revalue 88E with all its gas but until that point their gas is worth zilch, I'm afraid.

Over on Reddit, GeodesRock49 has posted an article regarding potential construction of an 800 mile gas pipeline to take gas from the north slope south. Worth reading.
The project seems to have the support and encouragement of the US administration and Congress due to possible enviromental benefits. Could be a major plus for Pantheon if it becomes reality.

Not specific to PANR but an interesting angle on how money is being made from the "unloved" oil sector...hTTps://www.ft.com/content/ed11c971-be02-47dc-875b-90762b35080e?shareType=nongift

Surely the big difference with earlier in the year is that Farallon were selling fairly vigorously then and appear not to be doing so now. Upside potential is greater now than then and the story is better known in North America.

Any comment on share price rises and falls or on the existence of specific quantities of extractable oil is speculation. Could go either way. The market is pricing in some probability of commercial oil so for some the share price looks outrageously high and for others it is outrageously low. I increased my holding a few weeks ago based on my own personal assessment of risk/reward - I think the share price has a way to go pre-testing but I could be wrong. However, I have no doubt that the winter programme will be funded and then will we have a better idea of quantum. Meanwhile we will just have to wait.

Second highest close since the great bear merger. Strong turnaround of circa 8 percent. In my opinion tomorrow will be a record close .

Thanks forwood. This is where I’m trying to understand charting logic (as opposed to charting). If what you believe the chart is telling you comes to pass and the price reduces (and becomes oversold), then I assume your chart interpretations would then look to the upside……..and you’d suggest 94 as the first hurdle, but what after that…..what other points of resistance? TIA.

pos - my last post on the chart does not show this going up (other than minor fluctuations), so it's not really relevant to post what it could do. However, a previous post mentioned a level around 94 as a hurdle but frankly I don't see it happening pro tem.

I bet no one saw this coming, charts or no charts. Goodness me, what a turnaround.

Good luck to anyone top slicing with a view to buying them back cheaper, i wouldn’t take the risk.
