31/3/2017 15:08 | Opti has been built on pharmaceutical spec science. How many times has soh said himself the platforms are pharma? Optis only difference between company's like 4d, seres health etc in this space is that they have raise £50+m whereas opti raised only £3.5m. The reasons are purely down to the regulatory entry to the markets and the huge contrasts in costs. Large scale clinical studies and regulatory hurdles are as you would imagine very stringent in pharma costing millions for single trials. It takes 5-7 years if all goes well to get pharma products to market.Opti rather cunningly have raised a fraction of the costs and are de-risking the science first allowing quick access to the lower regulatory food markets (which is huge and growing for these products). Soh is from a medical background if you think opti will only ever target the food markets then you should brush up on your homework! This recent skin investment and strategy only proves this approach. Cosmetic first - medical products later. Looking at Seres and 4ds current valuations following their ipos soh is currently playing a blinder with this strategy. I hold long and strong and am very excited over the serious potential of this share over the coming years | ![]() riskybusiness1
31/3/2017 13:54 | This U.S. patent application looks more like a pharma product rather than a food ingredient. Here is the list of patents for last year. | ibug
31/3/2017 13:32 | Rage - OPTI or SKIN was covered extensively yesterday. It's a no brainer....buy as many OPTI shares NOW and worry about SKIN later, because IMHO you will almost certainly be paying a significant premium to your FREE allocated amount at a future point to be determined. There will not be a great deal of SKIN share available. BOD & OPTI HOLD the majority, then Seneca, BOD and Seneca and those subscribing to the IPO are subject to 12 month lock in....IF I have this all worked out correctly. | elrico
31/3/2017 13:19 | Owen, OPTI has invested in the IP from Manchester Uni / Cath and created significant shareholder value in doing so. I entirely agree with the approach from SOH in commercially structuring the different divisions as separately listed entities. This approach will enable the value of the divisions to grow much faster and to higher levels as you get much greater visibility and transparency (and hype) over a new listing than you would get value attached to an internal division of an AIM company. The separate listed entities will also be takeover targets and different Multinational’ | griffin81
31/3/2017 12:58 | Or buy more OPTI?? | rage0270
31/3/2017 12:55 | Thanks for detail Risky. I'm still hopeful to witness a quid-pro-quo over and above the 10p Opti share price rise suggested as and when Skin doubles its value. Too much jam there for the ipo guys and too little for parentco owners; but I do think there is greater reward in the offing; somewhere! We'll know in time of course; if nothing else the suspense is exciting. | owenmo
31/3/2017 12:51 | The way I see it is that skin has 3 potentially huge areas. Eczema / preventing infection ( every patient coming into hospital is swabbed and treated if colonised with MRSA)/ and cosmetics. Any 1-2 of these could be huge. Even if we get free shares later getting in and starting to build a position here would be worthwhileAdnan | ![]() adnanwolf
31/3/2017 12:49 | riskyb, yes those are good points. Avoiding more dilution in OPTI and still being able to raise funds for 'skin' is a good way forward. Also,it must be considered that this situation could be repeated another two or three times in the future with other products that OPTI are developing, so again that should mean no more compounding dilution. | ![]() bobbyshilling
31/3/2017 12:45 | So free shares could still be distributed in the future??The question is to buy or not buy SKIN???Buy on first day of trading or let price settle the buy??? | rage0270
31/3/2017 12:11 | Owenmo - 100% of ip bought for £650k is obviously less than 40% worth of Optis £4.5m holding from listing. The difference being the division now has £4.5m chest of cash to grow. The options would have been:1. Wait until opti is profitable and miss out on first mover in the space and the interest this has brings with partners etc 2.try raise 4-5£m within opti diluting existing shareholders whilst trying to get people to invest significant sums for tiny percentages 3. Create a new entity from which opti is a majority shareholder with its value more than initial investment. It is also a much more significant investment opportunity allowing funds to be raised much more easily | ![]() riskybusiness1
31/3/2017 11:55 | As someone mentioned before, they would probably want the skin price to rise quite a bit before giving out the free shares. The good thing about this is holders won't want to let go! Which of course will have a positive impact on OPTI's share price. | ![]() parob
31/3/2017 11:50 | When FCA spun 10% of Ferrari in 2014 it distribute the remaining 90% of shares to its existing shareholders in 2015. | elrico

31/3/2017 11:48 | I'm very hopeful we will too marnewton. Not long before we find out. Its been a long period of consolidation but I think the lth's belief in this share is about to be vindicated over the next few months. | woodaldo
31/3/2017 11:47 | I agree marnewton - and with this (potential) date being in the future it should prevent some of our larger holders like YSF from selling especially if the price of skin keeps rising. | ![]() parob

31/3/2017 11:44 | I'll be very surprised if we don't get free shares at some point...as I said yesterday, the big question is, what will be the record date? M | ![]() marnewton

31/3/2017 11:39 | OPTI I think is going to have a great year. Just other a month to go for the cholesterol product launch, I'm hoping we'll get some good news flow building up to that. I'm just hoping one of my other stocks rises a bit before 5th April, as I really want to dip my toe in skinbio. Gotta have some skin in the game :) | woodaldo
31/3/2017 11:35 | There are several new posters with new profiles, opti investors just this month. Im wondering which one is mm. lol | ![]() incanus
