21/9/2018 13:17 | Hmmm not good. When it moves though it could really move | john09
21/9/2018 12:57 | This is one of the biggest pieces of excrement I’ve ever had the misfortune to invest in...ever!! It has absolutely no support whatsoever. I wonder if the ever useless Gupta will put us out of our misery?? | andycapp1
17/9/2018 16:25 | Last year notice of results issued on 25th September and issued on 29th September. | stur7672
17/9/2018 16:22 | End of next week at the latest | stur7672
17/9/2018 16:20 | When are the results? | turbocharge
17/9/2018 11:06 | Good spot indeed If it’s low grade coal OPG are importing than clearly it’s been moving the opposite way in price to the benchmark coal. Let’s see what they say in the results. It’s a complete coin toss this one at the moment. News like that and this flies up | john09
17/9/2018 09:50 | jozo Well spotted. OPG prelims should be interesting, in several respects. | azalea
12/9/2018 14:12 | Agree, £1m salary is obscene. Especially when compared to the size of the company/ the other director remuneration. It's over 10x the next highest salary. I thought I'd read somewhere it's gone down to £400k, but can't remember if that's actually true, 'cause I can't find any source that mentions it. | lizardman_
12/9/2018 10:33 | Not sure re patience. This has been a perennial dog. Poorly run but hey as you say coal might help and better news in captive plant status. You never know Gupta might cut his preposterous £1m a year salary. Or 2% of mkt cap!! | andycapp1
12/9/2018 09:55 | andy, "Who the hell knows with this!!" Certainly not me (or should that be 'not I'). Patience is a virtue, I suppose... | turbocharge
12/9/2018 09:05 | Solar fully commissioned, at least. I think any Gujurat improvement would be a bonus - perhaps they've restructured the debt? I'm expecting a decent loss for the year though, hopefully to turn around in the current FY - dependent on the coal price, naturally. | lizardman_
08/9/2018 08:44 | Results are out this month. Coal has stopped falling. But maybe Gujarat progress? Who the hell knows with this!! | andycapp1
03/9/2018 17:34 | Have you been asleep that long? | azalea
03/9/2018 15:46 | Oh come on OPG 💤 | john09
29/8/2018 16:09 | The way ahead Power consumption in China is often used as an indicator to measure the rate of economic growth, which presents a dilemma for policy makers on how to keep the economy growing, whilst reducing pollution from burning coal. EV sales will only exacerbate the problem by raising power consumption massively as sales are forecast to hit 1m EV in 2018 representing 3% of Chinese vehicle sales for the first 5 months, versus 1.5% in 2017. China as a major importer of oil,is further incentivised to move to EV in order to reduce its dependence on the price and availability of oil. From an economic standpoint it may be better for China to retro-fit clean coal technology to its coal fired power stations. | azalea
28/8/2018 21:46 | You'd think it would be no later than next week, as the annual results should be released end of Sep | lizardman_
28/8/2018 20:00 | I wonder if we will get the Q1 update later this week - it was issued at the end of August last year. | stur7672
09/8/2018 21:32 | Dont understand how this impacts the equity NPV of OPG? You saying it will stimulate economic growth, thus energy demand hence higher prices? Don’t think that logic works. What OPG needs is sustainably lower coal prices or rather a better dark spread. So lower coal or higher tariffs. Or both! | andycapp1
09/8/2018 09:00 | It will save the Indian government hundreds of million of dollars in the cost of importing the stuff. No wonder the BSE SN, reached an all time high of 38,000. | azalea
09/8/2018 07:44 | What? There isn’t much correlation if any between light crude and low calory Indonesian coal!! So what’s your point? | andycapp1
08/8/2018 18:14 | Light crude futures Sept, fall 3.87%. | azalea
07/8/2018 11:23 | The future of coal in seven charts | turbocharge
07/8/2018 11:22 | India's FY18 thermal coal imports up 8%: Government India's thermal coal imports rose by 8 percent and coking coal imports by about 13 percent for the year to March 31, government data showed. India's total coal imports rose for the first time in three financial years, undermining the goverment's plan to reduce India-bound coal shipments and cut its import bill. The value of India's coal imports rose by 38.2 percent to 1,384.77 billion rupees ($20.17 billion), the statistics wing of India's trade ministry said. Full article | turbocharge |
