29/6/2018 07:56 | Wow Flowerpothead! That’s relevant. Who is it that lets you out with this tosh? | andycapp1
28/6/2018 17:46 | UBS forecasts that by 2025, one in 6 cars sold anywhere in the world will be electric. India's EV production is doubling every year(with Gujarat becoming its production hub), and by 2030 only EV will be produced. In the latter case, domestic demand for electricity in India should increase every year at levels that will be extremely difficult to meet. BP has fired its own starting gun by announcing the purchase of a UK EV charging network Chargemaster with 6,500 charging points. Given the growing number of EV vehicles being built for use in India, it is difficult to imagine the number of charging points required to meet demand in the next few years and the amount of electricity required to operate them. With India having the fourth largest coal reserves in the world and importing most of its demands for oil, the country will make huge financial savings using EV, requiring no oil to run on. Against this global background, it is not difficult to see the recent forecast of oil prices falling in the next few years to $55 a barrel, becoming a reality. | azalea
28/6/2018 08:45 | Some interesting moves today on coal with Japanese utilities abandoning annual contracts with Glencore. Might be slightly helpful for OPG longer term (or should that be therm ha ha). Sorry!! | andycapp1
27/6/2018 23:29 | Hey Flowerpothead back with some piercing coal analysis! What’s your view on captive plant status? | andycapp1
27/6/2018 18:43 | From 23 Feb -29 Mar, price of coal fell from USD 110 to USD 89. | azalea
27/6/2018 15:05 | They are free to do what they want with profits from TN, so the accruals on Gujarat are not strictly relevant. | the original goldbug
27/6/2018 14:44 | Are u sure you’re tracking Indonesian coal ? Seems a common mistake on this board. I always check the first week of the month and it states the coal price set for that month | john09
27/6/2018 14:38 | After about a week of downward trend in coal price, it's been on an up-trend since 21 June. Need to have a sustained drop in coal price over a long period to help OPG share price. | turbocharge
27/6/2018 14:17 | Rubbish! They will still be accruing the interest. They want to retain an economic interest in it, not entirely walk away. | andycapp1
25/6/2018 22:32 | But they’ve stopped paying Gujarat interest and therefore have surplus cash flows as things currently stand, despite the high coal prices. | the original goldbug
25/6/2018 19:49 | I think their focus is on paying down debt especially while coal prices are so high, probably makes sense for the share price long term | jinvest1
25/6/2018 18:31 | No dividends atm | john09
25/6/2018 16:51 | I wonder whether they will pay a 2p dividend which they could easily out of cash flow going forward. | the original goldbug
25/6/2018 16:38 | Not an ideal day. Assumed we were off and running . Assumed wrong | john09
21/6/2018 14:05 | Doesn’t look like much volume actually but I’m liking the chart formation and hoping the downtrend is turning albeit at embryonic stage ! | john09
21/6/2018 13:30 | Solid buying today suggests the recent interests shown by two Inst were not idle gesture. Who knows they may have an inkling of promising Q1 (Apr-Jun)results. | azalea
21/6/2018 12:52 | Bouncing. Good | john09
21/6/2018 11:24 | I hope you mean half a million rupees? Half a million quid would buy a good chunk of Gujurat. | andycapp1
20/6/2018 12:11 | No it does not. My understanding is that there is about £25m held up in captive. Reading in between the lines, they obviously didn’t grease the palms of the requisite civil servants. So until ‘Mr Sanjay Pajit, Head of Regional Electricity in Gujarat’ gets his half million it will be delayed until due process plays out. | the original goldbug
20/6/2018 12:00 | /double post in error/ | jinvest1 |
