Were you following the closing action? I can't see a trade going through at 400k@27 so I'm guessing it didn't?

Today's 6.3% price rise to 27.1p was on a very healthy 7m volume.
That should help clear any stock overhang.
Interesting to see a 400K buyer at 27p in the closing auction.
Someone is keen, and maybe an institution that will continue to buy over coming weeks.

Ross, it's certainly possible. Ceres have just done exactly that, for those prepared to wait for a company with realistic prospects, you can multiply your money 20/30/40 fold if you get in early enought (less if you don't).

Things need to happen though. Going back a couple of years for cwr and one year for orph (this was my reasoning) - Small/tiny aim companies must have certain characteristics. Cash or certain access to cash (cwr, orph tick), Operate in massively growing markets (ditto), intellectual property and intellectual staff (ditto), business orientated boss (not sure about cwr, they were all academic, but tick for orph), crucially institutions buying in (cwr tick, orph no tick yet), crucially jvs with big companies who take a stake (cwr tick, no tick yet for orph) - there's probably more but that's enough.

The result of those ticks - cwr is a billion quid company from a tiny company a couple of years ago (when i invested in them), orph not yet a bill but certainly possible with the above conditions coming about.

Really, most of aim is dross. It may be dross which doubles in a day, doubles the next day but most halve the next and halve the next too. They simply are fluff stocks most of them. Finding a substantive one which rises over a couple of years for very valid business reasons is rare. It's why i think those trading for a penny have got orph wrong - its fine for the dross but just so counterproductive for the 1 in 500 aim which is a real billion quid company prospect.

Pierre With what we know and learnt from last nights presentation, a 1 bill Mkcap could even be conservative. I know we are a long way from that but if CF keeps going the way he is atm pulling off deals like he did to get the third facility, I'm optimistic anything is possible with us and our future valuation.

I am surprised it was such a slow start this morning. Tomorrow could be interesting to see whether the shackles are coming off.

I'd say with +3.5pish the last few days we've almost certainly left behind many of those who take a penny profit, and many more are probably sitting on big reduced holdings. No inst seller around i'm pretty sure of that (but each to their own). I'd say today and yesterday we picked up a few hundred more pis with opening positions (rns plus interview - how can anyone new to orph not buy after those?).

Another few steps towards 100p, and the path ahead is already laid.

Never before seen such a great prospect, even better than a year ago when i posted the same and it was 5/6p. It just gets better and better from a pretty unbelievably good starting point.

It could be that with Orphs recent price rise, the value of Invescos ORPH holdings have dictated that profits have to be realised, or the holding has grown outside of fund limits. Funds re-balance - so let us say for sake of argument, that ORPH was 5% of a fund and the fund rules state that no-one holding can be above 3% then the fund manager has to sell off 2%.

It could be something else entirely...we will never know. I certainly don't think it is some negative outlook on ORPH. How could it be? The prospects have never looked better.

Invesco are nothing to do with Woodfords holding are they? what do you mean?

I think that molatovkid is right in that Investco funds took on a lot of forced sell Woodford shares including ORPH with the intention of a number of their funds managers intending to sell excess to requirements. Seems sensible to me

RE: Invesco holding

I would rather see some "canny" Scottish funds buying into ORPH, rather than the Chinese who will always want to be in at cheapest price possible.
