18/1/2017 15:16 | Yes, CAKE is a wonderful business with high ROCE, not sure about the latest take over rumour they are looking at acquiring, guess they know what they're doing. | che7win
18/1/2017 14:37 | Been thinking about buying CAKE myself - was waiting for the turn in price, but I was to slow when it happened. Missed the low at the start of December and it's really moved up since then. Still on watch list. | uhound
18/1/2017 14:26 | Uhound, certainly! Bought GMS back today, topped up on CAKE and BVIC yesterday. Maybe I'll put in some IDP profits here, decisions, decisions. Market is nervous right now, missed WAND and PRSM earlier but they aren't really my cup of tea. | che7win
18/1/2017 12:18 | Che7win, looks like you have another opportunity here? | uhound
17/1/2017 22:49 | Sterling? Banks fell yesterday, usually do when May opens her mouth! | che7win
17/1/2017 17:08 | Any idea as what to causes OSB to be so volatile? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. | mazarin
17/1/2017 13:37 | Inflation letting rip, pound up! Kicking myself I didn't buy more this week here, I was hovering over the buy button. | che7win
10/1/2017 21:44 | Maz, I was wondering similar, OSB trailing ALD and SHAW for the past month, then today ALD falls hard and OSB recovers. | che7win
10/1/2017 17:59 | I see Virgin (VM)and Paragon (PAG) today made good gains almost inversely proportional to Aldermore drop. It's as though buyers drop one to move into the other within the same sector which I find strange. Incidentally, had I bought VM instead of OSB, I'd have seen better profits today, but that's the way it goes, it could have gone the other way. | mazarin
10/1/2017 17:09 | yes, I bought a few in ALD earlier. | che7win
10/1/2017 16:28 | Che7win, As you say there is a lot of volatility with some of these challenger banks share prices. Good volume in ALD shares too from what I can see which is not a good sign. Probably bounce back up again tomorrow! | uhound
10/1/2017 09:56 | uhound, it takes guts to go against the market, your contrarian view I don't dismiss, but that's what you're doing here. I have done that at the bottom of charts when there has been some consolidation. I did that with GMS with (premature) purchases at 50p and then 40p. It takes a lot of mental energy. So I do it on the long side. You are calling a top here clearly against the tide, that's not to say your view is not correct, it may be but the market doesn't see it that way right now.. I would be more comfortable in your position if I were to place a position with the chart turning, brokers are still upgrading here (not that they are any more accurate than anyone else). So I like to follow a trend, we'll see if this trend continues. I do like to hear the contrarian viewpoint. PS: Aldermore down today, wonder why? | che7win
09/1/2017 17:56 | As you ask, I generally think it's always good to 'bank a profit', provided the margins justify it. We all have our own reasons to sell that may vary widely over time. I also think its good that che7win is willing to share his 'rationale' and I have no reason to doubt his motives. Incidentally today's shift was similar to some volatile movement last week that today saw the share price drop 10+ points only close back up to end near flat on the day. It all seems very strange to me as a newcomer to OSB and it'll be Interesting to see how it fairs tomorrow. | mazarin
09/1/2017 17:02 | No, that's not it. OSB is a great place to park capital, but also very volatile, I trade it when I see opportunity, the graph has made it easy.I have other stocks I want more exposure to, so it's a juggling act. GMS is one of those. The shares I trade I move my stops up when in profit, I don't fight the market these days. Pity sometimes, I lost out on G4M because of triggered stops, but overall it works for me. | che7win
09/1/2017 17:00 | There have been many times that I could have sold at higher price, but only ever really been sure I should have done so, 'after the event'. Equally there have been many times I've sold only to see it rise. I call it 'seller's remorse'. | mazarin
09/1/2017 16:49 | Sounds like you panicked to me! | uhound
09/1/2017 16:28 | I like to trade around the edges Uhound, hope you're banked your profit. | che7win
09/1/2017 16:15 | Che7win, why you now selling? Based on your recent posts I thought you'd be adding! | uhound
09/1/2017 15:42 | Maz, I sold 6000 shares earlier on, bought 1573 back, it's volatile. | che7win
09/1/2017 14:10 | Who needs an in-house Analyst when we've got chew7win to do the leg work..? Well done, keep'em coming. Edit: Within minutes of making this comment there's more 'shenanigans' going on again with the s.p | mazarin

Advantageous market positioning, a risk management track record as strong as its peers and a rising CET1 capital ratio make OSB's 10% valuation discount to the peer group average." | che7win
05/1/2017 12:56 | Future Financier, All looks to be an interesting time ahead whichever way we think the market is heading. Thanks for the prelim date. | uhound |
