FQR :.....Your will lose very little if you sell now , you may lose the lot if you don`t , you may on the other hand win a lot . You are in a more fortunate place than most invested here . We are ALL aware of the issues .

I would say that the those last three trades are indicative of precisely that !
Somone is manipulating this share price , not to make money from a short position , there`s nothing and never has been anything (of substance) to be made from that practice , with this share ( not enough stock / trades ) , it has / is a deliberate attempt (so far successful) to devalue this business for a cheap aquisition .
I hope our BoD are honourable men , and have the stature , integrity , and competence to overcome this sort of corrupt practice .

hadronuk, I have no idea but possibly they have achieved goal of undermining the company for whatever purpose to help whoever maybe interested in parts of teh company?

Why would anybody short this over the last few months unless they have insider information?
I can't see how they made much profit in the last month or so, yet risked big losses if the BOD manage to do even a half decent deal.

The last PJ rns says they are still short by 18k approx. I can only think as we near results/update they want nil position. How can a company advising be in this position short for so long without someone checking who is carrying out these trades??

FQR714BHP is clearly new to this thread and his de-ramping is obvious - maybe he holds a short, I don't know but either way if it's so much of a disaster then why are you still here.......

Agreed, cash in hand is now a little less than twice the market cap but if they don't secure a deal then the winding up costs will eat into the cash balance and besides which you will be left waiting for the cash to come through. So on that basis there are now better opportunities elsewhere IMO. Hopefully it won't come to that and you wil get an offer north of 15p per share.

Mike ... the share price is now about half of cash ... and you say you wouldn't by and say it may get wound up ? Nice deramp !!

It has been dragged down this far by shorts and 7.5p does look to be bottom. I bought in paying 8p per share to cover my spreadbet which closes at a loss soon. The share dropped to 5.5p with more cash than they have now ... I am happy to buy and hold.

I full intend to make back that loss soon.

Cash at end of june 2009 was 7 mill . Most research on hold so not sure how much left at the moment after salaries... But what happened to revenue generating deals??

A little blue, have PJ had their ounce of blood? This was from the results statement back in Sept 2009:
Our detailed analysis of the data from the SOFIA trial indicates that NPL-2008 retains the potential to be the world's first licensed therapy for Autistic Disorder. We are therefore well advanced in planning the design of a second Phase III study, which would cost approximately £5 million to complete. Project expenditure on NPL-2008 is on hold as we continue in partnering discussions and assess the alternatives for funding the study.

Our two new near-term programmes in NPL-2505 and NPL-2510 could both be funded over the next financial year from existing resources and represent attractive opportunities for revenue generation in the US market and potential licensing and partnering in other markets.

We reported cash, cash equivalents and money market investments of £7.0 million at the year end and will continue to manage resources carefully, whilst continuing to progress our pipeline of product opportunities.



Currently we are valued at £2.6M ????

.....instead of having a pop at others why don't you spend more time looking out for the odd trading opportunity. There was a pretty savage intraday drop here earlier in the year and so I took a punt and bought a few and thankfully the price recovered in the coming days It has of course understandably drifted back down with the passage of time and the lack of news. I would not buy now, as whilst if an offer is secured there should be a decent return, the odds are increasing of the company being wound up and I would not want to be left holding shares and waiting for a cash distribution some way down the line.

.....but at least I managed to turn a profit here earlier in the year ;-).
