05/7/2024 19:00 | I asked why and on what basis they suddenly halted the buy back as we were informed it would be independently executed on an ongoing basis and fulfilling the shareholder approved commitment to return a bottom of the range £33m to holders. There was clearly no stated parameters that prevented ongoing buybacks ..and we were informed the ongoing market purchases were in shareholder interests as were value accretive. Fair question wasn't asking when it would start again ..though now know..just before a profit warning. | ![]() kooba
05/7/2024 18:40 | "So why stop all of a sudden for 6 weeks when you have a clear mandate?" BT probably accidentally on purpose phoned them to share the great news that ST Micro had walked hence conserving cash to buy back more shares after the share price cratered following that RNS..so our little fat hertbert friend accidentally on purpose let the bag out to Cavendish six weeks before the market knew... | ![]() paul planet earth1
05/7/2024 18:27 | kooba - I don't see how they could comment, at least until the buyback is complete - it could give the person informed a trading edge. | ![]() supernumerary
05/7/2024 17:52 | What is true is that no one at the company including the Chair or at Cavendish are prepared to answer any question on the circumstances of the cessation of the buy back and the timing. Great look for a company under scrutiny. | ![]() kooba
05/7/2024 17:50 | Often up to 8th May they were considerable % of volume as Cavendish purchased through the order book and then printed out the bargain to Nanono near the close..which double counted market volume. They were often near 50% of genuine volume. So why stop all of a sudden for 6 weeks when you have a clear mandate? | ![]() kooba
05/7/2024 17:46 | "The Share Buyback Programme commences today and will end on the earlier of the date the aggregate consideration paid for Ordinary Shares under the share buyback programme reaches £3.0 million and the date of the Company's next annual general meeting in 2024.""Nanoco has instructed Cavendish to conduct the Share Buyback Programme on its behalf on a broker-managed basis, with trading decisions taken independently of the Company. Due to the limited liquidity in the Ordinary Shares, a buyback of Ordinary Shares pursuant to the AGM Buyback Authority on any given trading day may represent a significant proportion of the daily trading volume in the Ordinary Shares on the London Stock Exchange and could exceed 25 per cent. of the average daily trading volume. Accordingly, the Company will not benefit from the exemption contained in Article 5(1) of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 as adopted into UK law by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018." | ![]() kooba

Now, when buybacks stop for a month and miraculously restart a few days before this last announcement- you claim it is coincidence?" ------ No. I didn't say it was coincidence and please remove your index finger from your nostril. | ![]() terrorwit
05/7/2024 16:54 | "Explain why they suspended the buyback based on company announcements or stfu. It was a buyback started on the 11th april to be executed on a continuing basis on an arms length broker agreement until £3m exhausted or the Agm. Go. _________ Ans. It didn't meet one or more of the prescribed criteria given in the respective announcement due to low liquidity. No conspiracy needed. | ![]() terrorwit
05/7/2024 15:12 | TerrorWit=CLOWN When investors make decisions on announcements taken at face value - you deride them. Now, when buybacks stop for a month and miraculously restart a few days before this last announcement- you claim it is coincidence? If you are so clever, why aren't you just enjoying life your riches and life, rather than trying to impose your unsubstantiated (by fact) opinion on others?Saddo. 05/7/2024 10:55 | A schedules update normally is made after period end whether interim or final. There have been a number of unscheduled trading updates from Nanoco around the litigation and other matters in the past very true and lots of them ..what im saying though is there is absolutely no reason why the broking side of Cavendish should be made aware of such and update or absolutely not what it might contain. If they were made aware and it influenced their execution of the broker agreement to complete the £3m share buyback then it is a very serious matter. Again after past issues of market activity around news flow it looks bad. | ![]() kooba
05/7/2024 10:02 | what is a scheduled trading update??over the years nanoco have issued similar updates in the summer months. Though such information has been occasionally clouded by Litigation issues and Hamoodi stuff.I would not think Cavendish are never communicating with Nanoco. | ![]() jfacwc
05/7/2024 09:12 | It was not a scheduled end of period update..it was out of the blue to the market generally. And as PPE1 says if they knew it was coming then there are serious questions around the information the broker had leading to them halting the buyback. The broker agreement was arms length and the desk that conducts that should have an information barrier ( now frowned on Chinese wall) between them and corporate finance ..the entire point in doing such an arrangement so the buyback does not have to be halted if the PDMR's become inside. | ![]() kooba
05/7/2024 08:38 | jfacwc "In their position, they must surely have close contact with the company" Thats the whole point the buy back is supposed to be run independant of any influence or contact with the company! It's supposed to be impartial ffs! | ![]() paul planet earth1
05/7/2024 08:19 | more likely, as everyone else was aware of an upcoming trading update, they decided to wait normally. In their position, they must surely have close contact with the company - so it's hardly being underhand or devious.Or would you have undertaken things differently? I guess investors ought to have analysed things more carefully, and seen this outcome? | ![]() jfacwc
05/7/2024 06:45 | So now we all know why the buy hack stopped for so long they knew bad news was coming no doubt tipped off and suspended it till the news was released and cratered the share price before resuming! | ![]() paul planet earth1
