14/1/2019 07:09 | You missed the Apple rumours? | davemac3
14/1/2019 06:39 | I can assure you if there was any sniff of a link with Apple, the share price would not currently be where it is. Rochdae - please can you provide a link or something to back this up? I have been invested here for an age and have seen the whole ‘we’re linked with Samsung, tcl etc’. Many thanks | 3raymo
14/1/2019 01:32 | So Dow, Merck, Wah hong, Plessey and Apple ... nevermind the other stuff.. The bold seems to be stated as FACT in the above. Does ANYONE have any links that prove this or is it all just hope without substance? Would love to see confirmation. If there isn't any then perhaps best to just stick with the facts until the news arrives, if it ever arrives that is! 20 years and a lot of hope. They haven't learnt the art of decent PR yet in those 20 years mind you. | lauders
12/1/2019 07:37 | According to Apple, they are introducing new screen technology at the same time nano/Plessey begin production of their nanoparticles and MicroLED.Hopefully a link? | jfacwc
11/1/2019 21:06 | FYI ...they signed up a number of major companies with no success to date commercializing their product.Perhaps it comes down to the material performance ( recently stated they are improving it ??? ) and the cost to produce it that is the real barrier.Announcing major partners has worked for 2 fund raises so far,why not try it again ! | ih_169538
11/1/2019 17:31 | Wait for the next fund raise, perhaps worth a punt then? | rathean
11/1/2019 16:19 | buy sell or hold,anyone know the answer? | notimpressed
11/1/2019 14:40 | BP67- To be determined, but I believe the more important takeaway here is that Nanoco continues to sign up recognizable commercial partners who are bringing their own application and technology expertise to the party. To me this reinforces that Nanoco possesses commercial skills (in tying up these deals) and legitimate technology. It's not like they are conning a non-technical financial backer or 3rd world country with concepts, hopes, and dreams. These OEM partners are sophisticated and have surely put NANO's QD's through product evaluations prior to these partnerships being announced. Every deal is additive. The volume and cash flow is cumulative and company expanding. | ih_332411
11/1/2019 14:14 | From what I've read, QD's are an essential integral part of microLED display, as phosphors aren't small enough to obtain the different colours required at high resolutions. So it's more a case of how fast the industry ramps commercially. I guess it's likely to be smart watches and VR bins that get the first attention, followed by phones, tablets etc. The benefits are clear- brighter more efficient displays, as they're the largest energy hog in portable devices, that has the capacity to be a game changer. | andycapped
11/1/2019 13:48 | Will they require QDs in volume though? | bagpuss67
11/1/2019 13:41 | sweet, that last paragraph is dynamite "Plessey said that compared with other display technologies, microLEDs are brighter, smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient and have a longer operating life. Where they replace OLEDs — for example, in AR/VR goggles or head-up displays — Plessey claims that its microLEDs offer 10 times the resolution, 100 times the contrast ratio, and up to 1,000 times the luminance. They do so at half the power consumption, doubling battery life in portable devices. They also feature perfect blacks, realistic color, and immunity to burn-in or decay over time." | roadster750
11/1/2019 12:10 | "The primary initial application is the head-mounted display for AR and VR, such as in gaming, where customers want specific color ranges and gamuts. Mike Lee, president of corporate and business development at Plessey, said that one specific customer in this area is planning to launch products in 2020 using its quantum-dot–ba "Lee said the quantum dots are applied onto microLED arrays using an inkjet process, for which the two companies will file a joint patent. 'Quantum dots offer the best solution for today’s emerging display requirements,' Lee said. 'The nano-sized emitters with narrow band emission make them a suitable solution for Plessey’s microLED display roadmap, which will see pixels being driven down to 4 µm in size in 2019.'” | ih_332411
