30/7/2018 12:46 | ni, is it not the case that ME is just bringing in the fire brigade, before he-s announcing a fire, the likes of which, David Blain is inadequate to control? hope not, but the timing seems right. | jfacwc
30/7/2018 12:27 | Personally I believe that the US are in control here more than we think and it would not surprise me if they pounce on this opportunity to buy outright as there ability to commercialise is stronger than ours. | red army
30/7/2018 12:04 | Howl01- Yes, interesting new landscape. I'm getting the feeling that Nanoco is starting again in a sense. The display commercialization has fallen very flat. ME has obviously reached out to new pastures in the US. Pickett has reached out to the Graphene world, but commercialization of Graphene has been very slow since its discovery in 2004. I'm not optimistic about display revenue keeping the ship afloat, so do expect a further cash-call. I guess the burden of the reorganisation has, hitherto, fallen on Blain, following Wiggins' departure. In the absence of revenue, Blain would have wanted a cash-call earlier rather than later. Perhaps the new CFO/COO is minded to delay that. Reorienting Nanoco to address the needs of the US major is crucial. Blain and Wiggins' departures suggest this may not have gone so well, so far. Am I right in thinking that targets have to be reached by July 31st in order to trigger further interim payments from the US major ? Has a failure here prompted Blain's departure ? Would value wise comments from posters to this board. | enteleon
30/7/2018 11:30 | howl01 the bean counters have always had their hand on the tiller, perhaps its dawned on ME et al that david blain was the wrong man for the job.In light of the new set up at runcorn, maybe the role of operations management has been taken over by the yanks, therefore the new man won't have much to do on that side of the business, leaving him to focus on the financies. | notimpressed
30/7/2018 09:41 | End of Nanoco as we know it on the cards. When the accountants become responsible for 'running ' the business (business in the loosest sense of the word) the writings on the wall. Let's see if shareholders see any value, the CEO seems to think otherwise given his recent sell off. | howl01
30/7/2018 08:46 | hopefully its an indication the geeks are being replaced with commercial expertise. | notimpressed
30/7/2018 08:09 | Think it’s positive. He’s an experienced plc director. I guess he must be comfortable with there being good commercialisation prospects in the short term. | bagpuss67
30/7/2018 08:08 | boris that was my first thought, but maybe he has been hired to drive the business forward to the next stage, hopefully cash positive. | notimpressed
30/7/2018 07:59 | Hope this isn't simply a desperate measure to reduce costs... Let's hope the new guys buys some shares... | boris cobaka
30/7/2018 07:44 | Seems likely he'll be shaking things up somewhat. If his last position is anything to go by. | jfacwc
30/7/2018 07:15 | perhaps the new chief financial officer will find some financial news to report. | notimpressed
30/7/2018 07:10 | Nice disappearing trick. | bagpuss67
26/7/2018 23:41 | jfacwc, lets hope its not a broken spring | notimpressed
26/7/2018 17:16 | Keeping my powder dry for the moment- assuming some prelim statement in a couple of weeks and low to zero progress in display - I'm guessing there'll be a drop to make it potentally worthwhile reentering with anything more substantial than I hold now. They'll need a lot more meat on the bones of the new contract or some other confirmed revenue/orders to prevent a savaging and further fundrsising is a very distinct possibility now (Nov/Dec/Jan). | howl01
26/7/2018 15:02 | :( will nano's film still be viable in these.... | boris cobaka
26/7/2018 12:25 | Feels like a coiled spring ... rather be in than out ... | jfacwc
26/7/2018 11:33 | Well at least no one is dumping | notimpressed
26/7/2018 09:27 | Yet another dimension to the nanoco world!No trades whatsoever by 9.30. (26/7). | jfacwc
24/7/2018 22:48 | High cost of WOLED section. | howl01
20/7/2018 15:13 | Let’s hope it doesn’t end the same way as LG. We were leaders then and have been tumbling down the hill ever since. | mrplay
20/7/2018 14:43 | They have made so much advancement with Cd-free products that they no longer have anyone in R&D working on Cd-based materials. Their significant new (Q2 start-up) manufacturing plant is Cd-free. Sure, they'll continue to supply Cd-lite film producers, but that is now a mature product area for them. The problem for Nanosys' potential competitors in the display market is that the technology is changing rapidly and the life cycles are short. While Nanosys is on the bleeding edge, the wannabes are on the outside trying to catch up to an ever changing target. That's why the auto sensor win for Nanoco was big. In that segment, they are the leader and everyone can chase them. | ih_332411
20/7/2018 13:39 | last time I looked they only had one colour Cd-free, either red or green but not both | re1dy |
