20/8/2018 12:05 | bagpuss re income post 17229 from monitors for arguments sake lets say nano receive $2/ monitor, thats $2mil if 1 mil monitors are sold, not an insignificant amount. | whum
20/8/2018 11:58 | Yes I sold my entire quite large holding on the day of the RNS. Maybe back at c30p. Still hope they can get it together and exploit this IP one day. | bagpuss67
20/8/2018 11:56 | Plus AUO sell panels to a multitude of other OEMs | howl01
20/8/2018 11:54 | It would be a milestone bags to have a commercially available product with nanoco dots in it! Should be demoed at all events if being made available pre Christmas | howl01
20/8/2018 11:52 | Sold up,and gone short then, bagpuss? | andycapped
20/8/2018 11:39 | Can’t see that launch will be earlier than the company just announced. And I’m afraid I don’t see these very niche monitors generating that much revenue for Nanoco. The trading update did not give any hope on that front apart from the nano particles that we know are delayed well into next year. | bagpuss67
20/8/2018 11:30 | Gamescom - Touch Taiwan - IFA should give some indication over next few weeks. Good article on CMOS - I also keep coming back to Teledyne as the potential US partner for sensors. | howl01
20/8/2018 11:24 | Maybe there will be news on the BFGDs from Nvidia at Gamescom in Cologne this week. | sd_anon
20/8/2018 10:28 | Lol. Anyway this is going towards 30p or lower and there isn’t anything that is likely to stop it. Nice for mr tenners options though | bagpuss67
20/8/2018 09:52 | Oh you mean his new sloop that he jokingly named "personal commitments" | roadster750
20/8/2018 09:35 | Edelman’s out on his yacht. | mrplay
20/8/2018 08:29 | Cannot agree with all the speculation predicting the demise of lcd/cfqd display. Samsung Qled is lcd/cfqd there are 2 major players who can supply that tech, Samsung themselves and Nanoco. We already have wah hong utilising nano cfqd, supplying film for gaming monitors. Tv will not be far behind, it is only a monitor with a bit of front end circuitry | notimpressed
19/8/2018 19:36 | It is an intriguing move to NANO by Brian Tenner. It will be interesting to see how this develops. | petepitstop
19/8/2018 19:15 | I really don't think Nanoco is being softened up for a takeover. If someone wanted this company and it's IP, they had a pretty good opportunity last year when the share price hit rock bottom along with investors confidence. I personally think that there is less demand for HDR sets than manufacturers predicted, and so with regards to display, the demand for QD's is lower. I think as HDR standards become more mainstream, demand will accelerate, but that will most likely take longer than many think- look how long it took for the 2K 1080p to gain traction, and many channels still don't broadcast in that definition let alone 4K HDR. Perhaps that explains the focus on gaming monitors which can see the additional benefits right from the get go. | andycapped
19/8/2018 12:13 | Andycapped- for reasons already stated. The Q.Materials IP is rare, so Nano is an obvious target. Nigel Pickett is an exceptional talent and doubtless he will have picked some very bright innovators. Ostensibly, Nano is well connected with Dow/duPont and Merck, so eventual Sensor IP could be extended to production plants in the Far East/Europe/US. The US Partner can keep all its options open. A few million quid upfront at this point is chicken-feed and they may be able to claw that back. Nanosys has equivalent talent under Dr Charlie Hotz, but is a privately owned company. UPSIDE- Nano delivers on the Runcorn production-line by year-end. US partner stays with Nano to stress-test both production-line and products. Promising for everybody. share price rises after year-end approval. DOWNSIDE- Nano fails to deliver. Partner claws back its milestone payments. Nano now in perilous position entirely reliant on Wah Hong/AUO income. US Partner will, under any circumstances, have sussed the talent and the IP at Nano and can talent grab. Nano share price sinks after year-end failure and, in likely scenario of inadequate income from Wah Hong, Nano would need yet another cash-call. share price back to 18-25p or whatever, but it's game over by then. It's all about probability of successful delivery of viable plant by year-end. Dynamic CEO or Production Director on site at Runcorn could make all the difference. Any sign of that ? No !! Neither Nano's delivery history nor leadership by Board beckons success. It's all about risk assessment and credibility. | enteleon
19/8/2018 11:20 | Opportunity? It may lead to acquisition or at the very least board changes to bring a level of success. | mr.oz
19/8/2018 10:49 | If they can't supply the goods, and their competitors can (e.g. Nanosys), why did a major US corp employ an overseas company, and front up the costs of expansion? | andycapped
18/8/2018 17:12 | Ent. Agree and have said for years they needed to turn their focus to operations. Quality, efficiency, cost. It would appear to have passed them by. | mr.oz
18/8/2018 14:41 | OZ, I remain optimistic. | rochdae
18/8/2018 12:28 | It may just be coincidence, but Nano's launch schedule for the quoted US company coincides with the possible launch for the Apple Watch. I recall that Cook said two years ago that the problem with the watch was the very small screen, which demands very high quality. | auction12
18/8/2018 12:17 | He's alive 😁 BTW, I've traded NANO several times rochdae. Successful on every occasion I recall in past couple of years is my recollection. Not falling in love with a share is something people also need to learn. Helps keep the vision clear and the opinions unbiased. Taking your paper loss to one side. Are you happy? | mr.oz
18/8/2018 11:09 | Lauders, When I post and what I say are up to me. Seems you want to blame other people for your 'stupidity'. That's perhaps another lesson you might want to learn. Bit like Oz and bagpuss et al ... those who are too frightened to short and too fearful to buy or to accept a loss. But all good at complaining. As for Nano, we shall see if the industry has a future or not.. | rochdae
18/8/2018 09:48 | Lauders, i looked back at 20+ announcements like the one above, each one has failed to produce any successful outcome, im in the same boat as you but looking back at those releases its understandable how we got carried away. | roadster750 |
