08/2/2018 18:55 | Noccer- value your comments about Invisage and Apple. Good to know that Apple are into QD technology. Would high sensitivity/low light cameras have applications on motor vehicles as we head towards semi-autonomous transport ? | enteleon
08/2/2018 18:48 | Apple did buy Invisage last year,. I think they produced nano-particles for sensors are something like that. not an expert, evidently | gersemi
08/2/2018 18:45 | Apple suppliers are usually not disclosed but I strongly suspect they are the new customer. | jsforum
08/2/2018 18:43 | Welcome lift in share price today but no real information in that rns to get excited about - obviously hasn't stopped others wildly speculating though. Agree with Mr Oz that the BOD needs looking at (well overdue). If Nano could release confirmation of sales and royalties for the last quarter for display I think it would provide much needed confidence in the market that they're making commercial progress and really ignite share price Our illustrious leader still lacks credibility- very happy to be proved wrong though and he pulls GE lighting or something out of the hat. | howl01
08/2/2018 18:39 | 4th highest intra-day volume since listing | gersemi
08/2/2018 18:36 | £2+ if an Apple tie up imhho | smraynot
08/2/2018 18:33 | From Alan Oscroft of the Motley Fool today: "Back in October, my Foolish colleague Rupert Hargreaves reckoned that the future for Nanoco Group (LSE: NANO) hinged on its ability to sign up new customers. That’s really the only way for investors to tell if its technology is all it’s cracked up to be. The share price had slumped at the time, and by market close Wednesday we’d seen a fall of more than 60% since a peak in July 2017. But Thursday saw a 50% spike, with the price reaching 36.5p in morning trading, after the company revealed it has signed a supply and development agreement with an as-yet-undisclosed US company. Nanoco said the deal means it “will scale-up and mass-produce novel nano-particles for advanced electronic devices and supply them from its state-of-the-art production facility in Runcorn, UK.“ Expanding the Runcorn facility to cope with the quantity of materials needed will require capital expenditure, and the contract partner will contribute. Turning point? These are obviously still early days, but with commercial supply expected to begin in early 2019, it’s looking like a serious stream of cash really might not be too far in the future now. Liquidity was always going to be a key issue as it is with any ‘blue sky’ growth company — even if it’s successful, early investors can still be diluted out, depending on how much cash needs to be raised to reach profitability. Some of that worry has now been lifted, especially as today’s news comes on the back of a couple of earlier agreements. With Nanoco having net cash of £5.7m at 31 July 2017, and a placing having raised an additional £8m late last year, I’m cautiously optimistic." | ghaon

08/2/2018 17:51 | Massive volume day. Roughly 14.5mil when you include NEX. Breakout of the seemingly never-ending downtrend is very close and a long overdue visit to the weekly 200dma. Never doubted them for a minute...... ;) ;) nudge nudge | boris cobaka
08/2/2018 17:42 | Well you never know I certainly won't be writing Apple off. If word slips out it is Apple we will be over £1 before you know it. Got to be in it to win it !! | trt
08/2/2018 17:17 | Reckon I would also guess Invisage/Apple quantum dot camera sensor as one of the few things I can think of that might require significant (but not huge) production volume, as well as being in a new technology area, and with a US major. I have been waiting to see if this tech makes it. Fingers crossed. | noccer
08/2/2018 17:07 | trt dream on. One swallow don't make a summer. | trycky
08/2/2018 16:35 | And Apple are the ones with enough cash to be able to fund the expansion at Runcorn that is mentioned in the RNS. | trt
08/2/2018 16:33 | Got to be Apple that's why everything is so secretive | trt
08/2/2018 16:12 | still a few bot trades goimg through, but not enough to indicate big insti buys | notimpressed

08/2/2018 15:18 | Thanks to everybody for helpful, constructive comments and links. Some relief for we downtrodden longs! Of late, I was concerned that the cash-call allayed immediate fears, but made no room for CAPEX at Runcorn. Also concerned that, as a "geek company", to use Edelman's words, Nano was very poor at commercialization and lacked vertical integration with its OEMs. Dow/duPont are much better positioned in this respect, but the silence from Dow/duPont is still deafening. Moreover, where is Merck in all this ? Will we see a trickle-down of SP, as we did following the ramp-up in July 2016, or will revenue stream from existing projects support and bolster the SP? Good luck everybody! | enteleon
08/2/2018 14:46 | Syd. I hope you are about enjoying today's success? | jfacwc
08/2/2018 14:32 | Biggest volume day in the last 5 years, bar one in April 2016 and today's not over yet. Impressive. | boris cobaka
08/2/2018 14:28 | nowent - then still ev's but look at fuel cell technology. | boris cobaka
08/2/2018 14:27 | Forgot that. Thanks. | ih_332411
08/2/2018 14:11 | The RNS says "novel nano-particles for advanced electronic devices" and Edison said "we assume that the application does not sit within one of the company’s established display, solar, lighting or healthcare verticals", so I am thinking we should not expect it to be a display product but some new kind of device. | nowenterprise |
