Why do I keep on thinking about the film The Big Country when I look at MPH just now. Are these chappies waging personal vendettas at their company's expense ? The way the RNS reads, it looks like it. Does Mr Morris regard this company as his personal fiefdom and as major shareholder, can afford to be confrontational for the sake of it, or am I being horrible. ? Is he still the prime mover, but acting like somebody from a bygone era ? Seems people here know quite a lot about him.

Just back what a difference an RNS makes, seems any slight negative news drives MPH down 6 and positive news has little change impact on the price. Look on the possitive side the business is performing well and the figures showed that at the interim stage with the second half to come, all to play for now top up while theres a chance...............wbj

So not only has he broken his contract with MPH, he has broken the terms of the above court rulling.

What we really need to see are the statements that are referred to in the RNS Title. Response to recent statements by Ozwald Boateng and Bespoke Couture Limited regarding the Red Label Licence Agreement

I can't find anything using the various search engines, so I assume they have been made in private between the two parties. Unless Marchpole or Bespoke reveal them, then the Market will remain jittery and the share price depressed. I had thought Red Label was a Whisky anyway.

no prospect of success and that it will be awarded substantial damages against

It would seem that Boateng has shot himself in the foot.

Fashion brand management group Marchpole Holdings PLC said it
is facing a fresh claim from Bespoke Couture Ltd alleging it has new grounds to
terminate the company's Licence Agreement to produce and sell Ozwald Boateng
Diffusion Collection garments in the United Kingdom.

If Bespoke win the court judgement is it likely the Licence will Terminate on the day of the ruling or be back dated to the date when the "New gounds" failed to reach amiable agreement?

Then of course whoever looses is most likely to appeal the decision and the case drag on for ages. A win win situation for the Lawyers even if they are on the losing side.

From the statement:-

"The Company commenced proceedings in June 2006 against Bespoke Couture Limited claiming damages and in those proceedings Bespoke Couture Limited have made a Counterclaim in which it alleges that it has new grounds to terminate the Licence Agreement."

Thanks, must admit to being surprised by the action after Hardman and others had said the saga was at an end. No worries bounce back very soon, just annoys me that the mm have had another chance to pick off worried small investors.............wbj

Wbj, Boateng isn`t taking MPH to court it is the other way round, Boateng had to do something or just put his hands up.

He has committed a grave breach of contract his "counterclaim" is just spurious.

wbj - No idea of his latest grounds. Presumably he has had his 200k now so the previous reason is dead.

Either way it is unlikely he can make it retrospective so I would say he is likely to be the one in deep doodoo breaching it.

dan. I agree the courts will take a very dim view of Boateng as it seems he has done what they told him not to do and courts don't like that, they will come down on him hard. I can't see why the RNS has knoked 1.5 million off the market cap today. Just MM games. a bit of buying and we will be back up.
