12/12/2019 12:02 | B+ thanks for two more very interesting news releases which I would never normally see. I can't avoid correcting the American executive when he said :- "GKN Aerospace brings more than 100 years of aerospace development and extraordinary aerostructures expertise" I always thought GKN were bashing out Whitworth and UNC/UNF nuts and bolts a hundred years ago. Well I suppose some of those early 1919 aircraft did use GKN nuts and bolts so he's not wrong haha. If my medical condition means I'm not on here too much in the comming weeks please accept my best wishes to you (and all the regulars) for Christmas, hope to see you all in the New Year. | losos
12/12/2019 10:27 | GKN news is normally released on the relevant websites. I google GKN news regularly to see what is going on. I suppose these releases do not affect the Melrose financial position so not released. | brexitplus
12/12/2019 09:43 | brexitplus, this is very good news. I wonder why there is no Rns for this? | hjs
12/12/2019 08:20 | Reno, NV., December 11, 2019 – Aerion Supersonic, the leader in supersonic technology, today announced it has selected GKN Aerospace as a supplier on the AS2 supersonic business jet. GKN Aerospace will design the empennage and the electrical wiring and interconnection systems (EWIS) for the AS2. Design activities have already started on-site at Aerion in Reno, Nevada and in GKN Aerospace’s engineering centers in the Netherlands and Romania. GKN Aerospace is a leading multi-technology tier 1 aerospace supplier company, specializing in developing, building and supplying an extensive range of advanced aerospace systems, components and technologies. “We are excited to collaborate with Aerion and to support the preliminary design phase of this all-new supersonic AS2 business jet. As technology leaders in both electrical wiring interconnect system (EWIS) and business jet empennages, we can bring unrivaled knowledge and expertise to the project,” said John Pritchard CEO GKN Aerospace ASEA. Aerion’s AS2 is the first-ever privately built supersonic commercial aircraft. The 12 passenger business jet is scheduled to begin flight testing in 2024. “Aligning with industry leading partners is key to making sustainable supersonic travel a reality,” said Aerion CEO Tom Vice. “GKN Aerospace brings more than 100 years of aerospace development and extraordinary aerostructures expertise, including thermoplastic composites and electrical wiring systems, to our AS2 supersonic business aircraft.” | brexitplus
10/12/2019 10:20 | Phew. No thanks getting. Wrexham, ugh. Bala even worse. | brexitplus
09/12/2019 18:56 | I’ve just realised as things stand it would be me who would have to meet Meanwhile and his other personas in Wrexham Wetherspoon! If that remains the case I’ll offer my prize to anyone who wants it - I struggle to think of a duller way to spend an evening! | gettingrichslow
09/12/2019 17:16 | Bet you're pleased, haha. | yertiz
09/12/2019 16:52 | Getting, Ive thought for a while that Melrose might look at part or all of Senior as a bolt on to GKN Aero. Ris in the pound hitting companies like Melrose today withlots of overseas earnings. My £2.52 looking a bit shaky on this. | brexitplus
09/12/2019 13:49 | Senior in the news today - considering a sale of its aerostructures business. | gettingrichslow
05/12/2019 12:31 | 1 week to election day and the stock market seems to have fully discounted the possibility of any Corbyn involvement in the next Government. We may therefore not see much of a rebound even when, as expected, the Tories win a good majority. I expect Minerve to return to our board following the election. I hope we can all just get along. I also understand that Stephen Kinnock, a big EU fan, is already being groomed to take over from Corbyn, creating the 'Kinnock Dynasty'. I suppose he would then at least be able to buy himself his own clothes instead of using his little lad's suits. | meanwhile
05/12/2019 12:15 | sliotar - I love a good strong mug of tea to accompany a bacon & sausage sandwich. | meanwhile
05/12/2019 11:57 | Getting - I love Brittany cider. Lovely and smooth. Just right with Breton galettes. Always bring some home. | brexitplus
05/12/2019 08:45 | Another little Porky? | sliotar
03/12/2019 23:18 | Fantastic pork in St John tonight with Brittany Cidre. No idea how they manage to do a meal of that quality for under £100 a head but they do! Just over a week to go until the election and there is a lot of debate in London wine bars of a Labour minority government. Is anyone else on here up all night trading the election? | gettingrichslow
03/12/2019 16:47 | Hi Losos, the raised beds and beehive were earlier in the year. Actually the beehive is a compost bin. Currently am working on some cages for the raised beds - pidgeons getting after my purple sprouting!!! | brexitplus |
