Mostert looks a bit of a beast, must be the neck and flattened nose. Glaws unlucky, Exeter back to form, could be a more even Premiership than last year.

Hi Yertiz, good decision. Exeter for the Premiership. Glaws back to losing by one score as 2 years ago. Ran into Franco Mostert on Friday in Cheltenham, not literally. He’s not as big as I thought. Tall but rangy rather than big. Had a big black eye!!

Ha, I thought my entry unreasonably high with no chance of winning. Bit of a double edged sword so IF I were to clinch the "prize' I'd donate it to a worthy cause, like the Donkey Sanctuary or the Colorado tourist board, in some way to help these worthy organisations undo the damage done to their reputations by Meanwhile.

My estimate for year end is 242 p. If there is any hint they might sell Norton then it could be a lot higher.

Thanks getting. This one competition I will be very happy to lose to Yertiz. 248p seems very popular!!!

I believe the last 2 champions were Casey the Dog and Mattboxy but I may have got that wrong.

Sliotar Shouldn't you have said "The Apostrophe Protection Society has announced it's demise, admitting defeat in the face of ignorance and laziness. Some of the posts' here may well have contributed."? :~)

Sadly, Sliotar, this is probably the case. We need only look back a few posts, to the latest from the Cotswold Sage, to see an example - “taking others advice”. Pitiful.

Meanwhile, which category would you put your Stirling Industries investment in? “Clapped out”?

This is not everybody's approach, Marie1980. I put all my eggs in one good basket, like MRO, I keep clear of 'clapped-outs' and of 'one-year wonders' like Burford, Kier, MINUS900 (previously known as PLUS500), PurpleBricks etc.

Tournesol My approach too. Taking others advice it would have been easy to invest a large sum in, say, Kier at 500p and be over 80% down in no time.

Marie why not drip feed? when I find a new stock that I want to invest in but am not sure about the current price level, I invest a small initial amount which gets the stock onto my daily radar screen and ensures I am sufficiently interested to follow developments and do more research. As I learn more I feel more confident in identifying appropriate timing for adding to the initial position. If I decide I got the initial decision wrong it is not too painful to accept the error of my ways and exit. Either way it makes for an easier ride than taking a big position in one move.

Hi all, I’ve total isa of £20,00 for this year and Melrose is one to invest apart from few others pharma long term and one bank stock. I’ve feeling this stock ran a lot. Should I wait or invest ? This share is the one I’m most confused.

Yes Sliotar, a lot of these lads would need to. On the subject of prizes to be offered for best MRO forecasts, I am pleased to be able to contribute a framed & signed photo (10"x8") of my new wallet, stuffed to breaking point, possibly as the 2nd prize. An artefact to embellish any young lads bedroom.

I'm pleased to follow mattboxy's procedure for forecasting the Christmas MRO price, which varies according to the prize. An evening out with Angela Rippon or Nick Robinson - 50p. An evening out with mattboxy or getting - 25p. A fresh, 15 lbs, oven-ready turkey - 248p An evening out with Minerve - 248p
