MW, you'd be better served sticking to binary. Less confusing numbers to deal with, like 1's and 0's. Don't think your simple mind could cope with anything bigger.

B+ - Going to be a tight game I think, only 3 or 5 points in it either way. Wouldn't like to call a winner here, Gloucester will pull out all the stops and Exeter have been a little rattled in their last 2 - 3 games. Good luck, just wish for a cracking match and a performance that holds the crowd in admiration.

...or, it will be a massacre!

Melrose is coming good again, still v. cheap below 185p, IMHO. My Xmas forecast is back to £2.00 level, netting me a fairly quick 32% profit (on top of the paper profits I have had since 95p days, of course). And I know a profit is only a profit once you cash in your holding - but there's too much to look forward to with MRO for me to sell a single one now.

Need to take a look at the cricket - last I heard was 152 for 3.......OK, now 220 for 3 and Bairstow heading to his century, nice one!

This sounds very good, Minerve. I'll be interested in the initial results when you have it working fully.

I have a non-digital system based on the past record of individual posters rather than current content. I rate each poster 0-8 based on the content of previous posts, getting, for example, is a 0, brexit a 1 (he did make a good post some months ago), jackdaw gets 4, yourself get 7, which would be 8 were it not for the poor language on occasions.
Everyone is then filtered and I simply multiply their rating by a factor of 12.5, the result giving me the % of their posts to sample with a temporary removal of the filter.

Getting, he’s going down in all senses. If he were a man he would post all of his holdings, but since he’s a coward he won’t.

B+, the master investor is desperate to boost his self esteem after last week's lesson in how not to invest - he told everyone he'd sold his Johnson Matthey shares, and the next day they shot up 13%!

Best news I’ve had all week.

Reminds me of Ray Prosser, a Welsh rugby prop from the valleys, in the 1950s to David Marques, England, Harlequins and Oxford University when he said

“there you go again, using long words like marmalade and corrugated iron”

I've got a new software script. I thought it up whilst at Bill's the other day. It reads through text strings and automatically uses a corpus to seek out words commonly used by stupid people. All I need to do is run it over the thread textual (HTML) string and hey presto! It works! No guessing what I called it. My software skills come in handy. Look! I need to optimise it a little by adding further words to the corpus. At some point I will make the corpus autonomous using computer science algorithms that are used in excellent, popular spam filters like SpamSieve.

Getting

Based on my thesis for holding Melrose, and after hours and hours of intensive eating and drinking and thus enjoying life, my wild guess is 185p.

But please, NOT Bills. Argh!!!

Right, it has got to be time for a Xmas share price prediction competition. To enter, predict the MRO closing price before the Xmas break. Winner gets a signed photo of Ryelodge's shrunken wallet. Last place gets breakfast with Minerve in Bill's. Mattboxy is the reigning champion I believe. Meanwhile came last as he didn't understand the question. Closing date for entries is Friday 30 Nov.

Not Malta its Gibraltar. It’s always Gibraltar. The Spanish want Gibraltar back. Tried a few times and its never worked terribly well for them. We’ll have Shabby National back from Santander then? (There’s a name fewer and fewer of us remember….)

And the French want our fish. Bring it on. When it comes to Peterhead vs the World, my money is on the Peetaheid loons every time..

Yep… Brexit continues to entertain and amuse. That the beleaguered leaders of Spain and France want to look tough and deflect domestic strife by prodding the Lion, and adding conditions to the agreement, pretty much explains why we want to exit.

Off topic Apologies. Back to Snoredonier watching

Yes , still taking the medication.

On another topic and from a trader friend, G E is in melt down, how does this impact on UK companies particularly R R. and what was GKN.

Apology,I know you probably played the GPMG.

I had two crew members on the boat. One from 2 Para and the other a R M from Plymouth, the instrument bit was part of the banter that went on between them.

I was in Malta about that time, do you remember that very "Straight Street" in Valletta.

Had the dubious 'pleasure' of being kicked out of many pubs - mostly abroad in the 70's - Marsaxlokk in Malta, several bars in Istanbul, Limassol, Ayia Napa (before it became clubland) and Lisbon come to mind. Usually leaving a trail of damaged furniture, blood and a few bodies behind. A couple of dhaisos were also sunk/damaged/irreparably scarred in another Maltese visit. Such was life with the Royal Marines, they knew how to have a 'good' time!
Nothing to be proud of, I know, but hell - we worked hard and played even harder!

Probably not a patch on the drinking abilities of Minerve though - so many sorrows to drown.

Have a great weekend Losos.

Only kicked out of a pub once. The Turf Tavern in Oxford after playing a cricket match against Brasenose College. Very drunk after a drinking competition. Managed a pint of Guinness in just under 5 seconds and didn’t win!!! Never again.
