Look, can't we all just get along?
There seem to be a lot of people here who draw pleasure from what they see as the losses of others. Is it just the general misfortune of others they get pleasure from?

Well this may please them. Today I came off a mountain bike sustaining minor injuries to the leg.

Those who value and look forward to my tutorials, and I know Minerve is one such person, should expect the 3rd tutorial in the next few days.
This will be on the subject of 'dividends' and will deal with questions and misconceptions from the simple to the complex, including the below examples which I have seen on this board.

- Why do listed companies bother to pay dividends? All I want is my shares to go up.
- At the last ex-divedend date, my shares fell by the dividend amount so I was no better off.
- Can dividends be accumulated throughout the year and drawn just before Christmas, like at the Co-op?

I see that Melrose isn’t just following the FTSE 350 again today.

Melrose UP 5.81%

Rolls Royce DOWN 0.14%

FTSE 350 UP 0.1%

SO WHY IS RR IN THE DOLDRUMS?

Well it just keeps having “bad luck.” Engines problems costing about £1 billion to fix, not meeting delivery targets, has just failed to win a contract for engines for Turkish fighters to GE. How can investors trust RR to meet its ambitions? Well it’s difficult, isn’t it.

Are you implying that we always have efficient markets? :)

I see that RR hasn’t risen 4 days on the trot. Down again today I see while Melrose rising. Oh dear.

Not stalking. Had a quick look this morning. I only look when I need a good laugh to start the day.

Not gibberish 🙉🙉🙉🙉brexitplus, a new nomenclature - hope you know what that word means - for ADVFN posters. It should be self-explanatory.

Glad to see you stalking me last night. What a sad numpty you are.

Yeah, you mean like most of the FTSE 350. LOL

Positive territory once again - is that 4 days in a row now?

Zimmer must be seething, not a good place to be with a hangover. Such a fool.

Still a buyer at this level (currently spiking over 174p!), but there's bound to be profit taking tomorrow if this keeps up, then I'll add more.

Hi Yertiz and Getting

Another good start. Hopefully if I post this evening it will remain positive.

Our ‘friend’ Zimmer obviously very inebriated last night, posting absolute gibberish on Lloyds. More so than normal. Sad, but no more than we have come to expect!!!!

Considering I bought another basketful this morning at £1.66 - my basket brims at 10k shares- I’m very happy and looking forward to further recovery to my selling price (200p average). I’ll keep buying up to £1.85 in batches of 5 - 10k over the next week. Not after a quick profit but happy to see my wedge increase in both value and size :)

MW, have you grasped what happens to the price of your original share after the rights issue has happened? That was the point I was making all those months ago and although I think you've now understood much of the mechanics, your very last post suggested you still hadn't understood that bit!

getting,

You've now had a few days to digest my tutorial on 'Rights Issues'. I hope you found this both educational and stimulating.
May I ask if you now have a grasp of the essence of this subject and can understand that when new 'rights' shares are offered to existing shareholders at 95p, then the price at which existing shareholders buy those new shares is 95p.

This appears a simple concept but obviously perplexing for some.

Minerve,

The 3 stooges are very active this morning; maybe they're up early to hide away their seeds and nuts in preparation for winter.

Hi Yertiz

Well done topping up. Price up again today. Also up yesterday when defence and aerospace shares were generally down. MACD looking ok at present.

I’m sure Mitty will find a negative. It’s all part of his condition.

I think you guys are being a little unkind to MW - firstly, it was his son that bought the shop with help from MW who had to remortgage his shed to be able to do so. Secondly, retailers are going through hell currently, so I've no doubt there is a huge anount of debt tied up in the shop. And thirdly, we all know MW's approach to life is founded on Walter Mitty, so how much of what he has said is true (apart from owning a wallet bursting at the seams with newspaper cuttings) can be taken with a pinch of salt. Same goes for his alter ego, Minnie. What a pair!

MRO performed exactly as I had suggested, thankfully added another 10k shares at £1.5885 average yesterday morning. Today we should see money backing the shares and the price improving through November.

Happy Hallowe'en - whatever that is.

Getting, I believe it’s at the top. Only one way to go. Down!!!

I think it runs in the family. I believe Mrs Meanwhile was His TrickCyclist when his condition was first diagnosed. After several further breakdowns she felt the only way to keep him safe was to marry and keep a close eye on him. They live in the middle of nowhere to hide his condition. She does sadly allow him use of the internet where he spends his day Googling song lyrics and trying, albeit failing miserably, to be funny. It’s all part of his condition. A very sad case.

B+, are you suggesting that Mike Ashley could be about to buy out MW's cycle shop on Mount Snowdon? That would be quite funny - the world's smallest Sports Direct shop!

Zimmer, perhaps, since as Getting says you have nothing better to do, you’d like to try and make a case for holding RR. I tried ages ago and failed.

Minny, I don't think there's anything wrong with my memory, its just that I've got a lot more than you to deal with. You've got a relatively easy life compared to me, spending most of your day chatting with chimps and morons on here, maybe a breakfast at Bills from time to time as a little treat, then hitting the bottle by midday. I don't have that luxury and have to juggle a full time, 'demanding' job with looking after my primary sources of income in the evenings and weekends. It's not easy. And in between all of that, I have to pick up on all of Meanwhile's ludicrous errors in his posts and tenuous grip on the nuances of share ownership.

Zimmer, I have a top proven team that I pay to improve GKN for me. I am very happy for them to get on with the job while I get on with other things I enjoy.

If, on the other hand, I were invested in RR I would be very worried by current performance and the “ambitiousR21; future outlined by Warren East.
