14/3/2019 11:00 | Tournesol, spot on. And if there was a 'People's Vote' that went 51% Remain, is there any doubt we would Remain?? | gettingrichslow
14/3/2019 10:47 | Yes, saw it. I think you mean self-destructive mode.😂ԅ | brexitplus
14/3/2019 10:47 | B+ If we have another referendum on Brexit I will vote in it and would urge everyone who want to leave the EU to do likewise. But if we end up being cheated out of Brexit, either by a gerrymandered second referendum or by a Parliament that decides to over-rule the will of the people then I will certainly never again vote for any of the parties that have undertaken what is effectively a bloodless coup against this government. | tournesol
14/3/2019 10:35 | B+, if u want to see Porky in full destructive mode check out the BUR board where somebody called 'Blackfinance' took all of 3 minutes to deduce that Porky is 'absolutely moronic'. He's going on again about how wealthy he is!! | gettingrichslow
13/3/2019 23:15 | Yvette Cooper is absolutely awful - everything about her. I think I'd rather be stuck in a lift with Michel Barnier than Yvette Cooper. | gettingrichslow
13/3/2019 22:24 | brexit sabotage all going to plan. | meanwhile
13/3/2019 22:17 | Great result by LFC. No soft penalties or VAR needed. YNWA | minerve 2
13/3/2019 21:03 | Porky, some of us have an investment horizon longer than 24 hours! Rather than spouting your normal child-like comments, try and make a bear case for Burford over the next 3 years? | gettingrichslow
13/3/2019 19:35 | Yertiz It’s a great atmosphere. We’re in Chelt tomorrow evening at the theatre. Had to book eating early as everywhere is booked from 7pm. Great for the local economy for 30 miles around the town. | brexitplus
13/3/2019 18:39 | I'm neither a bull or a bear on Bur but I noticed it didn't move much in the end. Funny watching the FANBOYS get excited and then it ends up a bit of a damp squib! ROFLMAO! | minerve 2
13/3/2019 18:37 | What is the country bumpkin Yertiz blubbering about? | minerve 2
13/3/2019 18:27 | Many years ago I and a few associates flew by helo into Wetherby Races for the afternoon's programme. We were offered the services of a well known tipster, champagne reception, canapes and VIP box seats with a direct link to a bookie. It was rubbish! Tipster was as useful as a chocolate teapot, the champers was flat, the helo ride was as rough as a badgers chuff and I didn't win a cent on the races. Never been since. Am tempted by Cheltenham though, just 2 hours up the road, plenty of locals travel up for the four days and always come back smiling. (Never too sure whether its a forced grimace or genuine pleasure!!). | yertiz
13/3/2019 16:42 | Yertiz Just been watching Cheltenham while doing some DIP. One punter put £100k on Altior at 2/5. Winnings £40k. Puts my £10 on Beware the Bear yesterday well in the shade, but I got much better odds at 10/1. Lost most of it however during the day. | brexitplus
13/3/2019 10:02 | Well done B+. didn't know you were a jockey? Not many 6'4" horse pilots around, haha. Burford had excellent results but the beauty of this company is the promise of vast rewards to come. Glad I added more to my ISA at £14 a while back. I see Porky's still at it, surely his credibility can't get any lower! I also added a load of Evraz to my stock pile at the end of January at £4.55, now well above £6 and a tasty dividend to follow too. | yertiz
13/3/2019 07:40 | Good day at Cheltenham Festival yesterday. One winner and a third. Excellent Burford results. | brexitplus
12/3/2019 18:37 | At least do us one of your 'hvs' posts before you sell up and shove off though eh? | gettingrichslow
12/3/2019 18:36 | Yeh, whatever Meanwhile. Dull, dull, dull. I'm starting to find your constant moaning and whining beyond tiresome. Can't you just sell up and then shove off? | gettingrichslow
12/3/2019 17:19 | Another dull day for MRO shares. After the favourable results last week, and the latest batch of broker recommendations, a bit of a good run upwards might have been expected as the shares have languished for almost a year now. But not so, and why not? The reason must be that there is simply no attraction to the shares and no incentive to buy them. I see 4 main disincentives. The dividend at around 2% is pathetic so no attraction for the yield. Secondly, the old-time MRO supporters looking for the usual buy, quick growth, cash returns etc. see the company now bogged down by a bunch of mediocre businesses in moribund industries, for which Melrose overpaid. No quick return here. Thirdly, the management have demonstrated arrogance & greed in huge measure with their bonus payments and investors can only take so much of that. Finally, the investor who likes to support british industry now sees, instead of british GKN, a bunch of businesses employing mainly overseas workers, about to be sold off to buyers of any nationality and the profits ending up abroad. The whizzkids have lost it. | meanwhile
12/3/2019 10:45 | Aerostructures manufacturer GKN Aerospace intends to further automate wing component production, building on its use of robotic technology for the assembly of Airbus A330neo outer wingboxes. GKN says that in 2018 it automated drilling, countersinking, and installation and removal of temporary fasteners for the re-engined widebody's outer wingbox. While the structure was not designed with automation in mind, the new method was introduced after production jigs had been established for conventional manual assembly, the company says. The traditional manual process continues to be used for production of the A330ceo's outer wingbox. Drilling and overall build quality has improved as result of the automation effort, GKN says. But it notes: "Productivity will improve when we hit full rate." Other benefits include a reduced consumption of energy and process coolants, better capture and recycling of metal waste, and an improved working environment for staff. "The biggest challenge was to convince all stakeholders to pursue an automated alternative to the traditional manual way of working," says GKN, noting that during the project, the company faced "longstanding assumptions about the build process". A joint team of specialists from GKN and Airbus was set up to establish the automated processes. Within the existing production cell, GKN intends to also automate fastening, measuring process and master-hole drilling as the next steps in an effort to make its facilities more efficient in the short term. More broadly, the manufacturer has set out a "comprehensive roadmap" for the adoption of automated manufacturing and inspection processes across a range of products and assemblies. Vice-president of engineering technology and quality Kostas Soumilas states that the investments are aimed at improving the manufacturer's products and process efficiency. The A330neo entered service with TAP Air Portugal in late 2018. Cirium's Fleets Analyzer shows that TAP has received five A330-900s, while the A330neo's second operator, Air Senegal, took delivery of its first aircraft earlier this month. | brexitplus
12/3/2019 10:37 | Melrose Announcement. "The Company announces that 15,047 options to subscribe for 2017 Incentive Shares of GBP1 each in the capital of the Company ("Options") were granted by the Remuneration Committee on 8 March 2019. These included the grants outside a trading venue of 2,584 Options to each of Christopher Miller and David Roper and 2,834 Options to each of Simon Peckham and Geoffrey Martin." 11/3/2019 18:42 | From the Barclay Brothers Sunday Telegraph " The UK to pay £39bn to remain in a one-sided treaty with the European Court of Justice to hold sway as long as Brussels says so. Britain will have no voice , no vote and no veto." Taking "no Brexit off the table does not make sense when negotiating " whether you are an inner or an outer. | jackdaw4243
11/3/2019 17:09 | Had a PM about comments on here. I agree, some posters continue to break ADVFN Terms and conditions - naughty. Also, commenting on my Kier investments too. You know, investing isn't static, you have to be dynamic. When the share price dips significantly on news which doesn't really alter the current status quo of the company you sometimes have to take the opportunity - which I did. Yes, broker TP's you have to take with a pinch of salt. Put the effort in and make your own TP, mine is about 615p. Have a good evening folks. Don't forget to water the flower pots. ;) | minerve 2 |
