I bought IWG at end of January and made a very quick 20% + return to date. Funnily enough I bought Evraz on the same day and they have done even better! Now waiting for a mega divi payout next week, currently giving me a 32% return.

My wish for this year is that iii gets its act together and reproduces the B.B. we had before they decided to ‘improve’; the site last year. Decent discussions and very few trolls.

Yertiz, couldn't agree more (as you know) on Halma and Ashtead - so glad I've got big £ in both of these. I've not come across IWG before - but share price looks like it has gone sideways for last 4 years hasn't it or is that wrong?

The silence is deafening! Minnie Mk 2 has done a runner, much like his altar ego, Mk1. Anyway, in his absence I'd like to put forward my suggestions for alternative companies (or 'shares', lol) to invest in.

Halma, well run company, excellent management who never fail to satisfy their shareholders. Divi isn't much to write home about, but does consistently rise yoy (and has done for about 40 years +).

Ashtead, well run company, excellent management who never fail to satisfy their shareholders. Divi isn't much to write home about, but blah, blah, blah.

IWG, well run company, excellent management who never fail to satisfy their shareholders. Divi isn't much to write home about, etc etc etc.

Bovis homes, much of the same above, but they have taken measures last year to raise their game, seems to be paying off.

Things we're still waiting for Porky to deliver:
1. Definitive Guide to Small Company Investing
2. List of companies with 'better futures and more respectable governance'
3. List of his academic and professional qualifications
4. Clarification on whether his primary investment objective is to 'beat the market' or 'not lose money'
5. Clarification on whether he still maintains that £100k per year is 'a huge salary'

I'm particularly looking forward to number 2 because of what I do for a living (a clue for you there Porky!)

He definitely can't answer 4 because they are contradictory yet the buffoon still trots out both lines from time to time.

Item 3 would be embarrassing for him so I doubt we'll get that either.

Let's see!!

I believe it was called “The Definitive Guide to Small Company Investing.”

Yes, still waiting.

Bercow - what an idiot! Thinks he is above all others, typical Small Man Syndrome. In my book he is a Porg (person of restricted growth) who needs his come-uppance. Wasn't his missus involved with some shenanigans a while back? And some questions over his expenses? And his bullying? And his misogynistic tendencies? Nasty piece of work.

Still waiting for Minny to give us his list of shares he'd buy over MRO, think he won't bother because he doesn't know himself. Also still waiting for the first part of the 'Investing with Confidence' seminar he was going to deliver on here. Pitiful.

Another great day for MRO, turning into a habit, this blue day feature!

Good to see Melrose drifting upwards.

What’s all this about non-PC? PC is the bane of most people’s lives. Together with vegans, Elf and Safety and John Bercow, the obnoxious midget. Am I allowed to say midget? Perhaps some prefer very vertically challenged. Midget will do for me.

Time for you to put your money where your mouth is Minerve 2. Care to list a few of your 'better future/respectably governed' companies for us to see what you think fit the bill?

Please don't list Kier, RR, Lloyds, AA.

Well done MEANWHILE.

Plenty of other shares with better futures and more respectable governance IMO.

Nice, steady momentum building here.

Forecasts for next Xmas? Mine is £2.55 based on this morning's finest Assam residue coating the bone china. Tomorrow I will mostly be using chicken bones. Has anyone else lost MRO's daily plot?

B+ "I’m with HL so don’t think my shares are lent, but who knows."

Same here, I very much favour 'nominee' accounts (I had some problems holding paper certificates when we lived abroad, delays in post and at that time some rubbish brokers who made some basic errors with the paperwork and cost me a lot of money, this was before I discovered HL)

The benefits of being with HL far outweigh any paper certificate benefits 'tho I have learned today that 'nominee' account shares might, maybe, possibly, be lent out to the shorters. Like you, I don't know if HL would do this but in my case most of my holdings are small so probably not worth the hassle.

Maybe the next time I'm talking to them I might ask the question haha.

PS Hope your cold has gone away, mine is just beginning haha.

Yes, good weekend. Rugby disappointing. Second half as usual. No energy. I think forwards should play like Exeter then use the fantastic backs to exploit like the last England try. Sadly we get well ahead then throw caution to the wind. Cipriani still the best fly half in England as he keeps showing.

Still Tonbridge Angels won again. My team.

Yesterday was coffee and lunch with our niece and her husband in Clifton, Bristol. Lovely atmosphere - quite cosmopolitan.

Life is so much better now Porky and Meanlodge in all their aliases are filtered.

Thanks B+.

Good weekend? Sporting-wise, a bit of a wreck but aside from that for me and mine a productive one.
