09/3/2019 23:08 | Talking of which I've been at West Bromwich Albion v Ipswich this afternoon to see a friend who has two boys signed up to WBA. Then Blacklock Shoreditch where the beef was the best I'd ever tasted. At least 7 pubs along the way. So that ticks off sport, food and drink but no dogs involved! | gettingrichslow
09/3/2019 22:39 | Perhaps one should start 'The Little Club' thread then and take your mutterings about "sport, food and drink, and dogs" over to there. | minerve 2
09/3/2019 22:34 | brexit declares :- "Otherwise, several of us are a little “club” talking about the finer things in life like sport, food and drink, and dogs." I can't really add anything to that; that statement just says it all. | meanwhile
09/3/2019 22:19 | Yes, I’m one of the disruptive influences, disrupting the smooth exchange and flow of key Melrose information and in depth analysis. | meanwhile
09/3/2019 21:15 | Essential I agree. It is a good report considering GKN has only been owned for a few months. Melrose releases very little but essential information. Most of the info, less the figures, was in the Trading Update in November. I try to post what I consider relevant information released by the companies owned by Melrose. For example, advances in electronic vehicles, etc. Otherwise, several of us are a little “club” talking about the finer things in life like sport, food and drink, and dogs. While several others prefer to be disruptive influences!!! | brexitplus
09/3/2019 20:57 | Not if we can help it... ;-) The news event passed without incident, least-wise ridding ourselves of some filtered aggravators, and we await developments over the next two to five years. In the mean time MRO is off-topic and we are back to business as usual... | sogoesit
09/3/2019 18:13 | Does anyone discuss Melrose?, asking for a friend ; Results read very well to me. The BOD timed their December share purchases well. | essentialinvestor
09/3/2019 17:23 | Yertiz Good draw for Argyle, Exeter closer than it should have been. Anyway you’ll be happy!!! | brexitplus
09/3/2019 09:37 | Do our "Weak and Unstable" Government have the balls to take advantage of a smart Brexit or are they just feeble bureaucrats feathering their own nests....? "Slash tariffs to boost economy and flip pressure back on to the EU, top German economists tell Britain. Embracing free trade would limit the damage caused by a “no deal” Brexit, give a bounty of cheaper imports to consumers and strengthen Britain’s hand in EU negotiations, according to top German economists. Slashing all import tariffs after Brexit would cut costs for households and businesses, giving the economy a boost, the Ifo Institute said in a new report, calling this model a “hard but smart” Brexit. At the same time it would rebalance the power around the negotiating table, which is currently based on a “no deal” Brexit harming the UK because it would involve Britain imposing WTO taxes on its own consumers." (excerpt from Voxmarkets 07/03/2019). | sogoesit
09/3/2019 08:43 | Yertiz The Premiership is yours to lose. I would have preferred Bath to lose, or at least draw, yesterday. Good luck. | brexitplus
08/3/2019 19:39 | I've pretty much given up with Ryelodge. Talks absolute garbage and never stops moaning on and on about bonuses instead of just selling up. And as for Porky, he is seriously messed up I'm afraid. Somebody called WBecki has had enough of him on the Lloyds board and is laying into him relentlessly - hardly surprising is it?! | gettingrichslow
08/3/2019 18:20 | Getting, how is your Froggie Diffusion? Have you spoken to hvs about it recently. | brexitplus
08/3/2019 17:12 | Melmoo, Yes, it's drivel, but the finest drivel I've ever read; drivel of the highest quality. Anyway, this morning there was some useful Melrose comment. You can't expect too much relevant stuff on here. I think you must have been spoilt, probably as a young child. | meanwhile
08/3/2019 17:01 | Porky, you've been 'owned' again by Brexit - you never learn do you? Hohoho 😂😂 PS can u filter me too please so that you don't keep responding every time I say something? | gettingrichslow
08/3/2019 16:53 | Melmoo, I think you are Porky in another guise. Only 5 posts, 4 on Melrose and one on Porky’s favourite PFG. | brexitplus

08/3/2019 16:41 | Porky. Run away again.Only asked what she was doing in the bar? Touchy. You’ll be back. | brexitplus
08/3/2019 16:40 | Hi Yertiz Interesting weekend for you. Exeter should win easily at Worcester but Argyle v leaders Luton looks a bit dodgy. Gloucester really need to win at Quins. | brexitplus
08/3/2019 16:40 | No. You are going to be filtered as of now. Those comments about my daughter were not called for. Rather distasteful. | minerve 2
08/3/2019 16:36 | Uefa has backed the video assistant referee system's decision to award Manchester United an injury-time penalty that knocked Paris St-Germain out of the Champions League. Diogo Dalot's shot hit Presnel Kimpembe's arm but was only deemed a spot-kick after the VAR intervention. But Uefa said the distance the ball covered was "not short" and Kimpembe's arm was "not close" to his body. Based on this, it added that "the impact could therefore not be unexpected" and "the defender's body [was made] bigger thus resulting in the ball being stopped from travelling in the direction of the goal. "The referee, therefore, awarded a penalty kick. | brexitplus |
