Happy Valentine’s Day.

I must say it’s great having a lovely wife to share it with. We started celebrating yesterday at Loch Fyne in Bath. Champagne, oysters, lobster. Wonderful.

And today I’m cooking. Seared tuna with chilli mayonnaise and roast tomatoes, sauté potatoes and purple sprouting from the garden, washed down with a bottle of bubbly.

Of course, if you have never been married .......

My wife has a personal message for the handsome Donald Tusk.

"Say, hey, good lookin'
Whatcha got cookin'?
How's about cookin' somethin' up with me?

I got a hot-rod Ford and a two-dollar bill
And I know a spot right over the hill
There's soda pop and the dancin's free
So if you wanna have fun come along with me

Say, hey, good lookin'
Whatcha got cookin'?
How's about cookin' somethin' up with me?"

I think Teflon May surpasses your assessment of Chuka and Corbyn is off the scale.

Chuka is a snake. Cable, well what can I say. Invisible as you say.

Wow, some change around. Perhaps he has seen the light, or at the very least how the Politburo in Brussels like to run things in a very undemoctatic way. PIIGS will soon be revolting, elections in May could be very interesting, unless they are run on the Sep Blatter principle.

Is this a double bluff?

Mark Carney drops Project Fear as he talks up free trade potential of Brexit

Mark Carney said globalisation has brought hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, but has not helped everyone, leading to dissatisfaction in some areas.

Britain could lead the world into a new era of democracy and free trade, using the Brexit revolt against the establishment as a springboard to making the global order more cooperative, accountable and prosperous, according to the Governor of the Bank of England.

The current system of global trade has key flaws including wealth and income inequality, a lack of democracy and trust, and serious financial imbalances, Mark Carney warned on Tuesday.

However, in a sharp departure from the Governor's "project fear" warnings of the past three years, Mr Carney said Brexit has the potential to address these issues and provide the opportunity to create a new way of running the world.

I see Melrose have recently appeared on the top 10 holdings list for a small and nimble OEIC (Unicorn UK Growth). I hold that...

One cannot miss the 30%+ fall in Plus500. ROFLMAO!

How does it feel to be a loser? LOL

I guess, by pure chance, you all sold out beforehand, eh?

Yeah, right.

Don't mess with Minerve with respect to investing. He is one of a few on ADVFN who actually knows what they are doing.

Had a reasonable year last year and doing very well since early/mid December - in all the stocks that getting (the imbecile) was ridiculing me on.

I've been doing this for almost 30 years folks on a portfolio valued in £Ms. I know what I am doing.

One day you might be big enough to realise how small you are within the investment sphere of knowledge. ;)

Every time it rains, it rains, pennies from heaven
Don't ya know each cloud contains, pennies from heaven?
You'll find your fortune fallin' all over town
Be sure that your umbrella
upside down
Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers
If you want the things you love, you must have showers
So when you hear it thunder, don't run under a tree
There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me

Good to know we picked some quality early on GRS. Melrose May have bitten more than it could chew with GKN but a year on I’d expect for some positivity to show. We also have Nortek and it’s divisions that need moving on so patience is key and to ignore the day to day movement as it’s meaningless for the end game. Good luck.

B+, interesting article from Nick Train you posted earlier. I have to admit that despite reading a lot of stuff over a long time I hadn't realised just how common it was to get those sorts of multiples. Of those on the list, I'm lucky to be a very long term holder of Ashtead and Halma. Yertiz the same I believe. The whole thing kind of contradicts the theory of having a stop-loss doesn't it!!?

MW, I never thought you were Jackdaw. I thought you were Ryelodge and possibly the mysterious and rather sinister 'hvs'. I've become rather bored of Minerve of late. It's just the same old drivel on repeat. The man needs to think about the wasted life he is leading and try to get out a bit more, maybe even make a friend in the real world...

My days of being "potential" are long gone, however having spent some of my time in the middle east with military personnel you have not touched the first base in "Foul Mouth" My RQMS would have him on 1 in nought to Ten.
