“Certainly not by me. Too many of the vermin already.”

Sadly the same can be said about Porky. Wouldn’t be missed by anyone.

Yeah, by you. Certainly not by me. Too many of the vermin already.

B+ - "Good morning Losos,
I hope Mrs Losos is making a good recovery and you and Casey are well."

Good morning to you too. I'm envy your work on the 'raised beds' something I've had on my 'to do' list for some time :-)

Mrs. Losos is doing quite well thank you and she has her last appointment with the physio and consultant today, hopefully she won't need any walking aids from now on.

It is with great sadness that I have to report poor old Casey passed away last Friday, he had sevral serious conditions including DCM (Dilated Cardio Myopathy) and was in a lot of pain. Where I sit here I used to look out the window at his big face as he lay in his 'mobile kennel' (The car!) with the sliding door open. I can't tell you how much he will be missed.

That’s correct Meanwhile.

And this afternoon we will be preparing for family to arrive tomorrow for a few days. Lots of good food, good wine, and the pub of course.

Sun ☀️ still shining here.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. Porky please take note

Oh yes, I do remember beig made fun of for my investment in Rolls-Royce. Here is the performace comparison with Melrose for the last 12 months:

Melrose : down 24.1%
Rolls-Royce : up 17%

And that is discounting the issues of faulty turbine blades too.

Unlucky. LOL

I'm sure the Yemen kids are really happy starving and getting bombed to death. But nevermind eh? Brexit has a 35" waist and is off for a pub lunch. LOL

You are not going to get much sense here. Brexit, getting and Yertiz are intellectually challenged dunderheads. They haven't achieved much in life apart from the odd weekend in Vegas with mates and 35" waists.

And from Nortek.

“Nortek Global HVAC, a leading manufacturer of HVAC equipment, is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2019 by recognizing the accomplishments from the past and focusing on the innovations of tomorrow.

The landmark anniversary was kicked off at the 2019 International Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigerating Expo, January 14-16 in Atlanta, and will continue with subsequent celebrations and events throughout the year.

Founded as the International Oil Heating Co. in 1919, the company rose to success manufacturing coal-to-oil conversion furnace burners. The innovative oil burners helped reduce coal-burning air pollution challenges faced in its St. Louis hometown, considered the dirtiest city in the Mississippi Valley at the time. Later, the company innovated even cleaner gas-fired burner conversions.

In 1933, they designed, built and installed the first heater for mobile homes (termed manufactured homes today). That important milestone helped it become the leader in manufactured housing HVAC, a category it still leads today.

The company innovated dozens of “firsts” throughout the subsequent decades, such as the first fully-automatic mobile home furnace, first sealed combustion oil furnace for mobile homes, and the first electric hot water self-contained baseboard heaters.

The company was renamed Nordyne in 1987. Around this time, the company was able to take their years developing manufactured housing HVAC equipment and apply it to the residential market. Newly-developed manufacturing processes, such as Demand Flow Technology (DFT) in 1994, led to faster production turnaround times and quality assurance awards. For example, DFT helped generate accolades from manufacturers, such as Sidney, Ohio-based Copeland, which recognized the company in multiple years as having the best compressor reliability in the industry.

As Nordyne, the company continued to introduce innovative technology solutions to the heating and cooling market. This included SmartLite™technology in 2002, which extended igniter life through self-adjusting startup times, and the first ducted application of inverter technology, the iQ Drive® line, in 2006. In 2014, the company introduced the first-ever residential condensing gas/electric packaged system – the R8HE.

In 2015, Nordyne was renamed Nortek Global HVAC, the name it maintains in its 100th year. Continuing the innovation of previous decades, Nortek Global HVAC recently introduced the first all-aluminum coil technology for use in residential HVAC applications. And in October 2018, the company patented a methodology that will revolutionize the air conditioning industry. The U.S. patent eliminates hot gas reheat circuit instability and the risk of potential freezing experienced by most current brands of air conditioning reheat technology, especially on dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) when operating during cold and high-humidity ambient conditions.

Nortek Global HVAC’s success is due in part to its partnership with independent contractors and distributors. This partnership has led to many product improvements such the new split-system jacket design launched in 2017. The new jacket was directly influenced by contractor feedback, resulting in a design that increases system serviceability.̶1;

Here we go Meanwhile. Melrose related news

“Transavia equipped the first Boeing 737-800 (PH-HSK) with new Split Scimitar Winglets in partnership with GKN Fokker Techniek. This is a new type of winglet that considerably reduces fuel consumption, and with which Transavia is taking steps towards making the fleet more sustainable.

Compared to the Blended Winglets, with which the Transavia fleet is currently equipped, these Split Scimitar Winglets create an additional fuel savings of 1.5 percent, according to aircraft manufacturer Boeing. That is due to the improved aerodynamic features the wings gain through this new type of winglet. For a Boeing 737-800, those savings can be as much as one hundred tons of fuel on a yearly basis. Furthermore, the flight range is increased by about 200 kilometres.

The first installation on a Transavia B737-800 has taken place at GKN Fokker Techniek in Woensdrecht. GKN Fokker Techniek and Transavia have had a successful working relationship for years in the field of regular maintenance, ad-hoc repairs and modifications to the fleet.

Mattijs ten Brink, CEO Transavia, said, “Our partnership with Fokker stems from the early years of Transavia, and we are very happy that GKN Fokker Techniek is also now contributing to making our fleet more sustainable.”

Jeff Armitage Managing Director, Vice President GKN Fokker Techniek: “We are truly honoured to be selected by Transavia for the installation and completion of the Split Scimitar Winglets of their B737-800. GKN Fokker Techniek employees are very proud to be involved again in the assignment for Transavia. We look forward to expanding our long-standing relationship with Transavia during this prestigious programme.”

This was posted on the MCRO thread a few days ago by a new member, Bramble Hill, (taking all the trouble to sign up to ADVFN):

Ironic really ;-)

Something that Telflon May and Trotsky Corbyn have not grasped is we are into coalition politics in the UK, other EU countries take it as the norm. There is not much difference between "right of centre left" and "left of centre right". If Vince Cable din't have the charisma of a biscuit weevil that would be the logical place for them to go.

My understanding about Swindon is that

1 Swindon produces in the main diesel cars, sales of which are falling rapidly

2 Both Swindon and the Turkish factory are to close

3 Honda expects 75% of its vehicles to be electric by 2025

4 Honda is relocating ALL production back to Japan where it has lots of spare capacity

5 Honda is not going to relocate in the EU

If I were Japanese it would sound like good business sense to me. It is alter all a multi-national company. However, it is sad that the Swindon plant will close. I pass it regularly.
