fasteddy...That looks like a staff issue that lack customer service know how which can be rectified...do you think other tables were pre booked?...if you are a shareholder I am sure a small note to the CEO would make him aware of the issues otherwise unknown!...

Has anyone been in any of the newly refurbed pubs yet? I have to say i found it quite discomforting to have to wait to be shown to a table to eat in what was prior to the refurb my local pub. In fact we ended up leaving after a few minutes as time was short and noone seemed to know where to seat us despite it being 4:30pm on a weekday afternoon and the place wasnt even half full.

Eric,

Did you know you can get a discount off food and accommodation as a shareholder?

"Eligible shareholders are entitled to a Marston's Inns and Taverns Privilege card which entitles the holder to a 20% discount on food and accommodation at participating Martson's inns and taverns."

20% is not too bad whilst you do some front line research.

pedigree ale - marstons I believe.

My meldrewish comments about the share price are tongue in cheek. Honestly I'm not getting increasingly frustrated.

I haven't got a huge amount of these but nevertheless they are a chosen part of my holdings and I do believe things could be bit different by approx april/may next year.

As long as the divi continues I will be happy and there's no indication otherwise.
With a stock like this it's best to buy collect the yield and wait, you know they'll have their day if they are undervalued. Obviously we'd all like to be sat on large capital gains whilst the daily gyrations and undulations take place but the market simply doesn't work like that. Dealing costs put you at a minus before anything else and then the stocj may only be down a couple of % or so and the position looks worse than it actually is.

I'm determined to just hold these and in effect forget about them, as I've said before 2 to 3 years divi and a decent rally which will happen and suddenly you're up 80%. It has happened to me many times before and luckily as I get older I get more patient and start to moan more.

good luck all.

Suggest that you find the bar steward who forced you to buy MARS & sort him out.

Eric,

Agreed, it's not going anywhere fast (up or down). But let's see what they have to say on 6th October and if all is going to plan I'm going to be happy to stick with it.

Yes lets hope their pubs are busier than this thread. We're going to make money here - rather slowly but I'm pretty sure of it.

From my past experience the quieter the thread and the less general interest the better.
