07/5/2008 08:23 | Looks like it has Dr DarkStar! I jumped on board just before the close yesterday. Paid 199.75. Watched them all day and I was determined to pay under £2! I like the beer - so I bought a bit of the company. Low PE and a good divi. Even allowing for a dog market, the shares look good value and the divi will hold. The divi should finance the purchase of a few pints of Banks Bitter - and a couple of packets of scratchings. | ![]() lord gnome
03/4/2008 12:11 | It was discredited very shortly after it was announced (as I recall, it was down to the gold? film they coat specimens with prior to analysing in a SEM, producing images not unlike bacteria). | ![]() gbb483
01/4/2008 09:30 | Is the announcement from the U.S. made with great fanfare , a few years back , that they had a meteorite from Mars that had fossil organic matter , now discredited ? | ![]() marwalker
01/4/2008 09:20 | Space Radiation Too Deadly For Mars Mission Charles Q. Choi Mon Mar 31, 10:31 AM ET Dangerous levels of radiation in space could bar astronauts from a mission to Mars and limit prolonged activity on the moon, experts now caution. However, more research could reveal ways to handle the risks that radiation poses to space missions. The magnetic field of Earth protects humanity from radiation in space that can damage or kill cells. Once beyond this shield, people become far more vulnerable. Astronauts have long seen white flashes while in space due to cosmic rays, or extremely high-energy particles, passing through their heads. A return to the moon or a mission to Mars that NASA and other space agencies are planning would place astronauts at continued risk from cosmic rays or dangerous bursts of solar radiation. Several reports in the past have outlined the potential risks. To further investigate the risks that space radiation currently pose, the National Research Council assembled experts in space and biology together. At the present time, given current knowledge, the level of radiation astronauts would encounter "would not allow a human crew to undertake a Mars mission and might also seriously limit long-term Moon activity," this committee notes in their new report today /more: | energyi

09/3/2008 22:36 | MM Dont see support until nearer 200 myself , only my opinion of course. I have RSI at over 20 and its been below 7 before, and recently | ![]() dr darkstar
04/3/2008 21:49 | DDS yes, great psychological failure of 250p level....but some fib support at 216p and currently looking very oversold. | maximoney1

10/1/2008 09:59 | I agree with what you say gbb483. However, less spending will ave a bad impact on profitability for a year or two. Best to keep out of the highly-geared companies such as Punch, methinks. | ![]() whackford
09/1/2008 18:02 | Which is silly. The Pub has been an English institution since the dawn of time, it's the one thing no-one is going to give up. | ![]() gbb483

04/1/2008 13:35 | perhaps they want out of a cyclical stock after getting the div. Doesn't explain it all I know. | insipiens
04/1/2008 10:46 | A drop of 25p on going ex-div with an 8.47 div seems harsh to me - what's happening? Is there something we should know? | ![]() dr green
04/1/2008 10:34 | Think they only go into pubs on a friday afternoon to see what they will be shorting the following week;-) These and WTB are ones i have had on my watchlist. Will wait to see what a full weeks trading brings to market next week. | ![]() shauney2
04/1/2008 10:14 | The whole sector has been drifting down since July. I guess the city doesn't know what to make of the smoking ban. If they got out into a pub once in awhile they'd see there's no problem. The customers are still there and the dividends will still be there; so sit back, enjoy the yield and snap up the buying opportunity. | ![]() gbb483

05/12/2007 16:12 | A very good long term buy at 330p IMO. Company mopping up £30m worth of shares before end 2007, so price unlikely to go much lower. | ![]() whackford
