Well some vol & it's heading up. Any ideas of anything actually going on, other than the clearance of those willing to sell?

In a very similar position Rob.
They will get some contracts soon I guess & that will be very good news for the share price
Also noted the upgrade, good reason to top up, so did.

A little more patience & a few patients & a little manpower & we will have a very successful NHS, never mind anything else.

Morning All
Well i have to admit to falling off my chair here in Southampton. I have just checked out the updated broker forecasts for MNS and they have been slightly upgraded, bearing in mind MNS continually miss target, i find this incredible !!! Anyway, here they are, Y/E May 2006 EPS 2.3p and Y/E May 2007 EPS 3.6p. I still hold 90000 so when they hit a forward p/e of 30 for 2007 i will have enough for 2 Boxsters !!!!!!

Best Wishes

Hi All
Unfortunately my computer has been out of order for a few days so havnt had chance to add my comments on the results. I intend to agree with Maxbubble rather than John. Although it has taken a while to break into the NHS we are now "currently in contractual negotiation " with other NHS trusts. We also know that Manpower are in talks with the ADF
"Initially, Alphawest and Manpower Software will work together in the development of solutions for the Australian Defence Force. Alphawest will enhance Manpower Software's solution implementation capability and expand the product into other target markets in the region including, but not limited to, health, law enforcement and corrective services, emergency services and the mining industries"
The fact they have beefed up the sales force and had to incur further costs associated with winning large contracts (admittedly not won yet !!!) and yet still have £1.5m (approx) in bank is very positive.

I have previously spoken to the company with regard to other sectors and they are more than happy to concentrate with the current 3. They feel there is ample scope for growth. For example, there are 606 NHS trusts, of which 2/3rds are actually not in deficet and hopefully could afford the MAPS software.

If MNS grew this years revenue by 20% to £7.1m i would hope that a substantial part of the incremental revenue would fall to the bottom line allowing a £1m profit and eps of 2.2p. I have again previously stated broker forecasts of 2.2p eps this year and 3.5p for next...a nice growth rate.

Finally it would boost the confidence if the directors picked up some more stock..they have bought at higher prices so it is possible.

Good luck to all holders

Rob

john909.....early days for this type of company usually swings - the more contacts they add over time - then the service fees grow as well and create a more stable base of revenues to cover ongoing costs - also when this occurs then margins will improve as well. They have pushed a lot for growth and yet their cash position remains the same so that is a plus.

John909.....i disagree slightly......i feel that Government are looking at all cost savings they can make throughout NHS, Military etc etc.....in order to do that with large staff numbers you need the right tools - so they wont mind spending £1m to save £2or£3m.

I went for an interview for a DBA role at MNS just over a year ago. I didn't get the job, but I did get a good feel for the company, and think that they have a product which could be a potential goldmine over the coming years. Only trouble is - do they really need their central offices to be in the heart of Leicester Square? Probably not, and it suggests to me a somewhat profligate attitude to spending shareholders' money.

Worth keeping on the watchlist, but no immediate rush to buy.

Hi Mac
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I basically agree with your post, however, it concerns me that we dont appear to be winning new business with new customers. For example, the sales of MAPS Healthroster were to existing NHS customers and the contract with The British Army was an extension.
We know that they are working on a contract with the Australian Defence Force and that there are 608 NHS Trusts to target !! A little director buying would give me a little more confidence.
Anyway, I still hold and will continue todo so....tehy only have to make their profit forecasts for the next 2 years and we will be happy investors.
Regards
Rob

The full scale NHS contracts looks very promising. Also like the fact that they have been standardising the products & making them easier to implement. All good investment that will pay future dividends. So the lower profit result on the back of such investment, is OK.

This is a company were it is just leaving the heavy investment in it's product phase & entering the heavier investment in Sales phase, so Rob hang on in there, it looks good to me.

If you ask me the potential is becoming much clearer, but people who have followed the company have grown bored & are moving out in drips & drabs, dragging the price down, on very thin volume.

I suspect that the potential will become apparent to new buyers in time & we will get some sort of bounce, but clearily those that have been following the company, are elsewhere.

Also the story appears to have changed little, but actually they have clearily got the product together in three markets. So the new sales, will come & the markets are big.

Well I guess the good news is that we are increasing turnover and that we have a nice lump of cash in the bank so no furthur fund-raisng required. It would be nice however if MNS actually hit a profit target !!!
Forecasts are as my above post and you would consider that if the market actually believed they were obtainable then the company shares are very very cheap for a software company. I guess we will have a drop in the share price today and it will not rise until they announce new contratcs with NEW companies, not just additional licences etc.

Well, i have to admit i didnt expect this movement in share price after announcing such a good contract. We know they are in discussion with the Australian Defence Force and i would guess they will soon be opening talks with other Government Defence Agencies. It is well documented that the British Army are one of the most respected fighting forces in the World so manpower has an excellent reference point. plus of course the cruise industry is booming with many new liners being built which all need Manpower's software. Perhaps another couple of large contracts will do the trick. The latest broker forecasts i have are 1.2p for May 2005, 2.2p for May 2006 and 3.5p for May 2007. So assuming a foreward p/e of 20 for next year (only a month away) i would comfortably expect the share price tobe over 40p....not a miserly 25p !!!
Best Wishes

Share price down 2p this morning, any body know any reasons for this. The share price has been drifting down on no new contract news but for a fall of this percentage there may be a large seller or some other reason. Factual information, if possible, required!!!

Hi Mac & Bostonborn
I hope you (Boston) are correct and Mac incorrect !! The potential for MNS is enormous and although i am getting a little nervous with the results being later than last year, i hope it is due to some contracts being firmed up. I dont feel that MNS need to get greater exposure......winning contracts with the largest cruise companies in the world and with some pretty large military organisations shows plenty enough exposure.
And of course when IBM took over Maersk Data, it means that MNS now have an alliance with IBM who i think are a pretty large company !!!!
But as we all know, we need those contracts !!!! I still hold my full 100,000 shares so every fall hurts but i still believe in the long term future of the company. I hope they justify my optimisim.
Best Wishes

They may end up getting taken over as a means to getting greater exposure & resources towards achieving those sales.

Anyway right down again, waiting news.

I can now answer part of my own question as I rang the company to ask. The Interim Results are due out at the end of February. The delay I would speculate (me mind reading!!) is due to either a new contract being firmed up or other good news.

When are the interim results due, does anyone know? They were issued on 28th January last year so it ought to be this week. Hopefully it comes with some further contract news, as they haven't made an announcement for some time. Answers welcome, plus any predictions?
