MNG is one of the sponsors of HMGs Investment Forum. (It sounded like Davos on Thames).

No doubt they want to manage much of the debt that will be used to finance things like expanding Thames Gateway. Some growth in the UK would be good as long as the benefits are mostly retained in the UK.

It's a shame as it ruins threads & hogs bandwidth and machine guns tripe almost as though it's got nowt better to do. Luckily on my threads it can't post...spud

right wing adults - surely that is a non-sequester?

Agreed, Skinny. I'm loathed to buy more MNG as I am holding a significant number and I need to hedge my bets elsewhere for different strands of income.I'm no analyst but the results were below what I was expecting and potentially the dividend cover is going to shrivel up. They're out of favour, this general industry, for sure now. It's not long to wait, and whilst the right wing papers are in overdrive, I'd like to think Treasury adults are reigning in some of the nonsense they are considering.

Anything much before the budget now is a bit of a blind gamble.

I have a shopping list, but am trying to sit on my hands...

I guess you will get your 180p after the bad budget day. I’m holding off on this assumption. If it causes a wave in bonds or perceived inflation trends, then we are back in the doldrums. Who would invest in UK growth under this dire government claptrap nonsense ? Hold onto your hats

If it goes below 200 it could easily slip to mid 180’s. No real growth in the economy again this month, but not to worry, labours budget will all be about growth!!!! Not.

Hi Ron

I am sticking to my hope so 188

I seem to remember that being a benchmark mentioned in a post from long time ago.

Absolutely dreadful market just happy to have divested and got some cash on hand , but just how frustrating this is evidenced by the increasingly grumpy tenor of some of our know it all protagonist contributors.

English weather here in Jerez today but the country needs the rain

Be good

Not a time to buy, agreed. This is market sentiment, not necessarily MNG related, but any more of it drifting and I think support at 200 will give in.
For those that are considering buying, what’s your target price?

Sorry don t think so

This and all the usual suspects will continue to wallow until we know what's in the budget.

Patience is the key here markets very distorted (FOMO) very much in evidence to me and while this situation persists am letting things slide.

Have another week left here in Jerez and every day discovering something new (Pale Fino) a delight.

(Manana) Is my watchword in these miserable distorted markets aided and abetted by same.

Been interesting visiting the various discussion boards and looking at the fractious correspondence.

Best of luck to all

BBFB.

That's a good plan, and will pay off handsomely I think. I have little discipline when it comes to investing. Whichever is paying the smallest dividend gets my free investment, though if there is an XD coming up I'll swap and buy more of that one.MNG is one that I hold for full retirement, but I do look at a trade on half around XD time. Hadn't worked this time, so I've ended up with more than I need.

I do £25 a month in MNG and other super high dividend payers in the sector ABDN CLIG LIO PHNX. Along with 16 Investment Trust on wide discounts and a physical Gold and a physical Silver ETF. As my broker interactive does commission free regular monthly investing it's a low-risk low cost no brainer.

I recon if Israel situation gets out of hand..Oil will go 5%+ up....Fed or BOE will not cut int rates fast enough and that may creat scenario of hard landing instead of soft landing what everyone wants.
