XD in the morning for 6.6 pence, building a position and buying at sub 200 pence for income looks likely from here given the historic prices around XD events.. :o)

lol, the yield beats inflation but I am not teaching you the rest, ask your carer.

The dividend is already way above inflation so why do you think it should have gone up same as inflation?

nerja, it was a retort to Helen's waffle about doomsayers on here. The results were poor, yet all the spin crew have done themselves is further disorientate themselves. The profits tap has been turned off, a 1.5 per cent increase doesn't break the bank when inflation is higher than that, but the smart ones will see better opportunities away from this stall.

Lost me with that one, I sold half of mine on the results at 214.6p , purely because I was disappointed with them, I get the markets are disoriented , I suspect because of the yanks not knowing which way to turn now, big difference to them which way it goes the dems then bonds , the republicans then shares, us we just seem to be f#cked but where do we go?

I just see disoriented investors ignoring the facts. We'll soon see.

Sorry Helen I just looked at the yield and graph and the odd comment or two and thought - why not - interest rates are bound to fall now that country is still not getting out of recession....
So a yield of over 9% is absolutely fantastic.

Where did you see the optimism Net? I see doom mongers on this thread. Good luck.

I like the optimism so I bought some.
Probably the kiss of death.
Sorry.

Really depends what you mean by "end of", Pander45. My two dear smoker friends are still dead from lung cancer so def. end of them.

Happy investing.

Best not to take the supposed AA4 NAV figure too seriously. Only when eventually AA4 and their investors know the terminal value of their planes will we know whether the current NAV is for real. It’s unlikely to be…… but to compensate investors have that big annual dividend which they have committed to paying until 2016.

AA4 still trading at over 50% discount to NAV and carrying a yield over 14% - a top pick if ever there was one :-)

Personal choice, risk is clearly known and blatantly obvious. End of.

Kenmitch,

You are correct about AA4, I should more properly have said it has only recently exceeded the price I bought in at last year as it dumped on me right after I bought in ;0)

AA4 has not been weak lately. It’s been inching up for the last 6 months and is now 27% higher than last March. Most of the share price gain has probably been had now, at least until they next update.

I'm ready to add substantially if it does exdiv. Buying sub 195 and selling over 205 would have been a decent trading strategy last few years.
