No Conservative Voters or Reform UK voters ever says "Directors inflation busting rises not in the calculations yet"

- Elon Musk paid himself $56 billion.... I'm no expert but I think that alone is more than all the train drivers in Europe added together and their families and relatives pay all added together. If that is not inflation busting nothing is . 😀

Anyway I'm in high yield because with inflation coming down and interest rates falling, high yield, relative to anything else, is going to get more and more and more in vogue......

Until we get some serious growth in the economy.

Ron is right

There is no rush

Interim dividend now in the past but was a very cautious increase.

We have Phoenix reporting on Monday for what could be an Indian Summer after a very anxious past few months.

I am more then ever inclined to wait until after the budget and the USA elections have taken place

Have a good weekend

I think it’s easy to get on the rage bus, interest rates must come down!!
Wage inflation is totally untamed with PS and train drivers inflation busting rises not in the calculations yet.
I think the BOE will wait again, this government is spending irresponsibly on pay rises

I think an interest rate cut is a certainty.

If the BOE cut interest rates by another 0.25% it could bode well for the insurance company shares imo. gla

Helen, only the other day you said you held this share ‘ I like the share and my gut feeling’. You are hardly a thinker, unless your gut does your thinking, perhaps the proximity to your butt is a factor.

Well I reiterate I still don't see it going sub 200. We'll need to wait and see.

Odds are oct24 favours below 200p. I am not short seller but long. Need to average down below 195p.

Buying and selling works, just not this time. If you know what your criteria is and it works it's another method to make in.This particular time I don't think anyone has used that method, unless you know of someone tuppy?

Yes buying and holding here makes more sense to me rather than trying to trade around the divi simply because it could be a takeover target at anytime.

Good luck all 👍🏻

I'm holding on to my shares and I will wait for the potential takeover that may be imminent.

ACTION:
The odds are on the investors side.
If we are wrong we still get the dividend
If you are wrong you get nothing.

I think that equates to about 60% 40% in favour of investors in high dividend financial shares.

(obviously nothing is certain - but a roughly 10% dividend yield is a lot of money)

lol, nutter we will see. Sentiment held the market. If you do as I instructed your wet toilet paper theory crumples.
Good that we can disagree and enjoy ourselves. We both have sizeable dividends to enjoy Xmas and maybe buy a few extra shares.

Rong: Take today for instance. Taking into account dividend, MNG was more or less in same ball park as the rest.

We will see tomorrow......

Nutter, wrong. Look back to 3 Sep. Can do the same with Av. And LGEN too. The sigma variations work.

Rong: I disagree. These type of stocks generally go up or down together... If it drifts it will because the sector drifts..... Anyway that is how I see it....
Tomorrow is a new day.

Kernal: Yes tomorrow and the rest will probably just go on the average up or downness for the "big finance dividend" sector or FTSE generally. The key thing is we had a "good" ex-dividend day - eg the dividend was bigger than the fall.

Well, it closed above the starting price minus the dividend, so I guess that's a result - for now at least.
