04/9/2024 11:18 | Well back from my walk in the lovely sunshine and that is the only positive that I can take from today The results here at MNG and across at Direct Line are pretty poor in my opinion. That dreaded FOMO is propping up some pretty mediocre results . Phnx results in a few days time but nothing here says to me to buy and happy with my decision to sell this am. Will see what the yanks and their algos do this afternoon but increased nervousness creeping in. The dreaded 'R' word being bandied about too often for my liking. Optimism slowly being drained away I hope I am wrong but that feeling will not go away. Batten down the hatches there is a storm coming Good luck | jubberjim
04/9/2024 10:55 | "M&G nonetheless declared a 6.6 pence per share dividend for the period, up 20% from 6.5p the previous year." By Emma Curzon, Alliance News reporter FFS... | novision
04/9/2024 09:57 | Question on whether they consider they have excess capital was quite interesting.....they are very happy with their financial strength. Capital management framework suggests they will grow the dividend, but are likely to invest in growing the business instead of eg doing buybacks. But Board call at year-end. | markingtime
04/9/2024 09:51 | Listening to the presentation, it seems to me there are reasonable expectations for growth, especially given the recent hire from L&G and in relation to solutions for DB pension funds and in fixed income. If they get to grow the business and keep costs controlled, they are going to be a very attractive acquisition for someone. | markingtime
04/9/2024 09:46 | Dividend paid in October I have that as 2 weeks earlier than last year - so small increase and a shorter wait to put it to use. Looking at the admin costs - I'm not seeing any savings from restructuring. | fenners66
04/9/2024 09:09 | Safe to re-invest the dividend that's what matters at the moment. Savings rates are on a downwards trajectory, so l need solid dividend payers. | smurfy2001
04/9/2024 09:03 | Quite funny how some posters cannot read figures. | rongetsrich
04/9/2024 08:51 | Quite funny how some posters fail to understand most of us are here for a dependable dividend income. Today's results completely reassure on that front and that is what matters. I hold prefs bought on over 7% yields and this remains good value at over 9% yield which looks solid as a rock | dope007
04/9/2024 08:50 | How dare people sell using their own choice. People can't be allowed to use their strategies, how dare algos their own thing. | rongetsrich
04/9/2024 08:50 | FWIW :- Barclays raises M&G price target to 220 (215) pence - 'underweight' | skinny
04/9/2024 08:27 | There are some here that come to post form their upper bottom. These results, however the fine sprinkling of expensive sugar, are poor. Some can't even work out the dividend increase percentage then compare and contrast it. | rongetsrich
04/9/2024 08:25 | You really do have to wonder: paying a good solid - growing - divi, currently yielding over 9% - and still some are selling. | woodhawk
04/9/2024 08:03 | Like slide 19 of the presentation. Without generating more capital, they have about £800m (to leave SCR of 190%) as potential spare capital. That is 2x annual dividend cost….I can see a BB announced at FY results in March. | 1jat
04/9/2024 07:54 | Predictable reaction to poor results. Those of you suggesting that they are good must be looking at different figures to me. Just managed to sell a few thousand this morning at 2.16 , miracle ! Sadly I still have over 100k shares left. If I ever see 2.16 again they will be gone. | lab305
04/9/2024 07:42 | i guess some of the key qns are commented: are they able to grow life volumes with BPA and prufunds. BPA yes (good hire recently); prufunds tougher wihtout non uk distn which is coming as before. can they get CI under control - this looks promising given all new hires. are flows ok - id say yes given mkt backdrop and like the non uk insti. is OF moving forwards - not this period but not so bad. PVST as % of OF continues to grow....at some point this needs addressing. cap gen continues ok so divi well supported. pleasing to see they are binning ascentric albeit after wasting c150mln of our money on it. | cjac39
04/9/2024 07:24 | Don t have the confidence of a lot of the posters on here. Was going to wait for the yanks this pm but in light of sun shining and n longer raining here have sold out just now. Going for a walk enjoy the sunshine Good luck everyone | jubberjim
04/9/2024 07:19 | Yeah I agree that the results are solid enough. Sure we could could go sub 210 or maybe even sub 200 like we saw only last month but for me the divi is super strong, the company is doing well and a share price of over 220 will come for those prepared to ride out any short term noise. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
04/9/2024 07:15 | Good solid results from M&G. capital generation good ,operating profit ahead of consensus. Operating costs coming down as is overall leverage and solvency strong. offering over 9% yield on current share price What's not to like for income investors. market reaction this morning is pretty good considering the overall market backdrop. | muscletrade
04/9/2024 07:04 | I'm proud of you, is it a good figure in comparison to its peers? | rongetsrich
04/9/2024 06:58 | Imo, likely to be a shake at the start, but the increased and relatively secure divi will mean the yield will support it, now and into the future. | pete160
04/9/2024 06:57 | Didn't anyone go to school? The increase is 1.54%.......or 1.5385615 if you want to be exact. And since this calculation took me less than two seconds what's wrong with you guys? | grahamg8
04/9/2024 06:54 | Do you understand the answer? I suspect you do not. | rongetsrich
04/9/2024 06:45 | 10/6.5 % (about 1.5%) increase on the interim | 1jat
04/9/2024 06:43 | R u joking? | phillis
04/9/2024 06:41 | What's the percentage increase on the divi? Can you tell me how you work it out? | rongetsrich |
