The difference is incredible.

I like the story here and have a big upside 100% in the next four year maximum

Thanks for that CT. Not local at all, just visited it with my better half back in the 80's. She had an Aunt up there and uncle who had been a miner. Think we stayed a few days and went racing at Pontefract. Very friendly people, so just struck a chord. Back to LPA, I tend to agree with your view, a nice little company that escaped the clutches of Mr Perloff some years back I recall.
Should be interesting to see the price achieved on the land, although not specific to the wider story.

I am still buying all these dips out.
71p today was a steal in my opinion.

Hastings........Glasshoughton............

Is now the site of a Snow dome and huge complex.

With the exception of Blackpool this attracts more visitors than any other place in the uk.

I can still remember (just) the mine and coking works there.

You must be an ex local lad.

Yes, I don't see much correlation between DIA outlook statement and LPA. DIA had quite a hefty rating (PE ratio of 31) and this is not the case for LPA (11). Any change in outlook was going to impact DIA because growth is already factored into the price. Don't see much relevance to LPA, but I guess it is a buying opportunity for anyone that believes the story and has the funds.

Being marked down following DIA flat statement (lighting >50% growth, signals down)?

Guys we all agree that 2014 may be boom year.

I said 100% upside and I am not sure I said 3 or 6 months.

I buy shares and continue to hold and buy as long as I see 100% upside in a two year period.
I started here at 30p and sold some in the high 90¬s......they never closed that high and my broker keeps remarking it was a good call.
We have settled at 65 to 75p.

I am really not bothered as long as I can buy in that range with what I know right now.
They are hard to buy and I keep forcing it up.

My stake is quite large but need more before I am fully invested here.

I can wait because if it takes 2 years its a great investment. 3 years and its excellent 4 and its still very good.
They are few and far great little companies like this.

ps as the name suggests I am very close to Normanton depot.

I agree with Stewy & Hastings and believe LPA should be looked at over the medium term (2 years).

However the question is when and what level to buy at? Is it in the 60's or 70's price level or could there be another level to get in at?

Mark Slater in his interview with NBC news stated as long as you are in the right company that is the main factor and whether you buy at "X" level or "Y" level is a secondary factor.

Of course the cheaper you buy the better but it you are bottom end fishing that is impossible position to call.

IMO LPA looks fair value at this price level however once the land deal is finalised I believe we will see another spike in the share price and if there is another substantial order win that will have the same effect and they may start trading at a higher price level.

I think you are correct to a large degree stewy, but I also feel that the potential over the next couple of years may well see the price head further northwards in the nearer term. The land is as you say factored in, but only to a point imo. It still needs to be executed and it should be interesting to see the price.
There are then a couple of sizeable contracts not yet recognized, which could provide a boost too. The real cream however comes in the ability or lack, of the board to muscle in further on the LED Mkt. If, they can maintain the recent growth and impressive wins, then the Broker estimated sales for 2016 of £12m may well be on. That is LED alone, which could then deliver net profits of circa £2.5m. If investors believe in the growth story then people will want to grab it ahead of the game.
Of course much can happen as we all know, things change quickly. But the mkt cap remains tiny against the current situation and forward potential, all imo of course.

Hi CT,

I don't see any drivers for a doubling of the share price this year. If you look at the recent contract win, it is all scheduled to begin next year. Broker forecasts were flat for this year and I think this is because they have their hands full with the move (just my opinion). As for the sale of their Saffron Waldon property, that is already factored into the price IMO. There was a 20% jump in the share price on the 22nd November when planning permission was granted.

I will be happy to be proved wrong as I hold also, but I think the current rises are down to an excuberent small cap bull market.

I think 2014/2015 will hopefully be where this company comes into its own driven by LED growth.

Lets see what happens.

Regards

Stuart

CT-Fair comment, assumed you meant short term 100%, the way i read it.

Will check the P/E as i'm still showing x14

For the record I have a medium sized holding here

THE P/E historic was 11 not 14.

The reasons I give are as follows.
A small increase in t/o of 5.9% led to a profit doubling.

Why because the mix was better. Look at margin increase.

We have a 2.5 million excp credit to come (which will cover extension and new site)............once up and running we will be even more efficient.
Huge capital spend coming to railways etc soon. we should do ok from that.

The UK will in 2014 climb its way out of a slump and again we should improve with it.

We are a tiny company ( market cap) with great service and a tight cost base.
MY TARGET OF 140P......is only 35p ahead of current brokers fair price target based on old numbers.

I remain of the opinion that the shares are WELL off the radar and as such undervalued.
Of course you pay your money and take your chance. That said I did get some away in the high 90`s but have since bought them all back.

A lot of potential going forward imo and while it may appear to be priced about right for now, if they can maintain the LED growth over the next few years the share price could really appreciate. Some nice comparisons with Dialight in the broker note, not implying that these can repeat their performance, but it does show the potential going forward. Mkt cap is very modest for curent sales-profit and what should soon be a solid balance sheet. Sure, fairly illiquid with only around 500 shareholders away from the notifiable holders, which can put some people off. But, then if they announce a few more largish contract wins, who knows!
