Just read this on Woodford. I can't get over this figure. It can't be right, surely?

65 million

Estimated number of apartments ➡️ standing empty ⬅️ in China (that’s equivalent to almost half of the entire US housing stock)

Tusk was bang on the money and all sensible people will be in 100% agreement with him as it's quite frankly a point that can't be disputed.

Well done Donald, we're all behind you sir...............

Last week, Chancellor Angela Merkel's government nearly halved its 2019 economic growth forecast from 1.8 per cent to 1 per cent, citing Brexit as the first among key reasons for the slowdown. ....its single market is arguably its greatest achievement, and officials fear that any weakening of this would undermine the entire European project.

Tucsk has shot himself in the foot. He really doesn't understand the British psyche at all. He will have to go on the defensive about this.

On another note. The market seems to be doing well. Is this purely a bet on that in 50 days or so a decision will be made one way or another. Showing that biz just hates uncertainty and prefers knows whatever they are. I feel the truth is that there will be little to no change no matter what outcome. As long as the result pasifies the majority of the electorate by whatever smoke and mirrors. Plus of course eu and UK stay friends and everyone feels like they won something in the deal.

Leadsom was just interviewed on R4.

There MAY be a MV next week, but it will depend on what TM returns with. Otherwise, the gov't will lay a neutral motion on Thursday, amendable. Asked when a MV might be held, she batted it away, unanswered. She ended by reaffirming that we will leave on 29/3, come whatever.

It seems to me that they continue to count down the clock, with all its implications. Meantime, I'm stocking up on canned soups, breakfast cereal and anything else that seems sensible.

Tweet:

Microphone at end of press statements, picked Varadkar speaking to Tusk
"They'll give you terrible trouble, the British, for this," he said.
Tusk nodded and laughed.

Farage has already jumped all over it with a tweet of his own.

After 29th March, Tusk will have all the time and opportunity to go there with his buddy Fjuncker! UK don't need any lessons from him or any EU Chimps. We don't need any EU Chimps to teach us or run our country!

https://brexitcentral.com/uk-eu-free-trade-agreement-advanced-liberalising-deal-ever/Ninety per cent of global economic growth will come from outside the EU in the years ahead and the EU now accounts for less than half of the UK's overall trade. So our future trade deal with the EU must allow us to strike out and form fruitful relationships with these emerging powerhouses of the global economy
