I get the impression that Lloyds is pushing its way back up to the 50p level. It has been very quick to recover from recent falls

The reason why we have environmental crisis is because there were 3.7 billion people on this planet in 1970s there are just under 8 billion now and forecasted to increase by 1 billion every decade all in countries that were chronic poor in the 1970s. How is stopping people from there daily lives by blocking roads going to change that

Arj, when puberty comes I expect you'll have more rounded opinions, and value what's left of democracy and the rule of law (which trump's everything else).I expect almost everyone here respects the rights of anyone to legally protest about anything. But the mature here would equally expect any illegal protests to be jumped on and stamped out quickly by the authorities, and instructed to make their protests legal.

scruff1, it's just more evidence that the police have become politicised. The cops on the ground will have been told to indulge these protesters, we don't want the wrong sort of headlines in The Grauniad do we!

Scruff1,
why are you so obsessed with that ??. What they are protesting about trumps almost everything in spite of you being a sceptic on whether humans have contributed to global warming - incredible really .

Some people might find this of interest. George Gammon sheds some light on what perhaps the Kabul debacle was really about, and also about 17 mins in explains Modern Monetary Theory. MMT essentially is about governments spending money into creation and thus side stepping the issuing of bonds along with their liabilities. The theory is that taxation withdraws enough of the free money from circulation to avoid inflation! It seems to me MMT is the ideas of children. GG see's all this as being the work of the IMF who want to dictate everything. It would seem we are on the very cusp of interesting times.
