19/9/2021 13:11 | "fight of the murderous maniacs next door but that's history" But our defence contractor has business in France TODAY so it isn't a success story for our defence sector and we also depend on the French for our marines TODAY and we also depend on the Germans for our TANKS TODAY! You can't go around like your in an old boys' club like Boris is doing. It is a grown-up's world now. You are supposed to be statesmen. Not kids putting up their single and double fingers FFS! | medieval blacksmith

19/9/2021 13:07 | And the French needed the British army in two world wars to fight of the murderous maniacs next door but that's history just like brexit and anybody who has owned or driven a Renault wishes they hadn't tried to build motor cars | josh 32
19/9/2021 13:07 | No electricity !!. Blimey it will be like having a labour government again. How will the wokeys cope in the dark - its scary | scruff1

19/9/2021 12:52 | Nuclear's failure has everything to do with Tory ideology in not wanting to be seen as a state sponsor more than anything else. There are plenty of things in life that really need state subsidy but the Tories have backed out. That is why EDF (French state support) and China are capable in that they have long-term financial sustainability in order to deliver it. Even in the US many nuclear power stations are funded by municipal funding. Oh dear, "what?????!!!!!!!" I hear you say! In the US we have socialised finance? My god. It breaks your little crony capitalist bubble doesn't it! | medieval blacksmith
19/9/2021 12:50 | I’m just wondering which sector they made a success | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:46 | Pierre Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have always supported nuclear power. Don't confuse sandal wearing tree huggers with millions of pragmatic decent humans who value the planet over that of money. :) By-the-way, nuclear isn't the only sector we have become an also ran. I have a list as long as my arm. Tories mostly are to blame for it. | medieval blacksmith
19/9/2021 12:32 | and china. Yes it's totally and utterly as stupid as it is uneconomic. (compared to inhouse expertise). I expect you fully supported the 50 year anti nuke campaign (as 99% did), which took the uk from the world leaders in nuke tech, to having pretty much zero expertise, and reliant on others. Don't tell me min, you always supported nukes. I expect you were one of those calling me a mass murderer who should be shot when i was the only one telling of the future energy disaster without nukes 30 years ago. | pierre oreilly
19/9/2021 12:27 | World leading Britain relies on a French state-backed company (EDF) to build its nuclear powerstation. | medieval blacksmith
19/9/2021 12:26 | Around christmas will be ok for electricity, demand spread throughout the day. It's jan and Feb on cold evenings between 5 and 7 when there's a real danger of powercuts. No wind, an absoute minimum of reliable backup (and even that at a billion pa cost pa) which may or may not manage to keep the lights on. I suspect those with smart meters, like me, will get chopped first, before the large areas (a few counties large) get shed. | pierre oreilly
19/9/2021 12:24 | But probably go off when the power cuts come | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:24 | Drastically reduced shelf life coming on products that somehow make it to market Might as well stock frozen pizza now | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:21 | Buy the matches to light them in October Haha | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:20 | We might not even have electricity Get the candles in | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:19 | Tricky, didn’t Have logistical and supply issues ranging from no drivers to C02 last Xmas Prep now or starve in December M😂 | sentiment riles
19/9/2021 12:18 | Mr Johnson told MPs that the Aukus agreement was "not intended to be adversarial" to China but the UK was "determined to defend international law". Says it all doesn't it. | medieval blacksmith |
