28/9/2020 12:59 | meek28 Sep '20 - 11:45 - 315636 of 315641 "You don’t have to look far, Google Professor Delores Cahill or Professor Michael Levitt, they have an interesting perspective on masks" Likewise Dr Chris Martensen/Dr John Campbell evidencing numerous case studies globally on masks in their various videos recently, viral load reduction, and infection prevention(dependent on mask clearly) Asia has a culture of mask wearing for sniffles. Check out Asia's IFR / CFR. They're far lower than Europe,UK,and US. Still, ignore common sense and the obvious. Masks, Hand washing/Cleanliness and protecting the vulnerable are obvious. I do disagree on the whole economy being shut down though. Crazy. Isolate the elderly/vulnerable, let rest of economy carry on as normal. But the damage has been done. | geckotheglorious

28/9/2020 12:40 | Karen Williams28 Sep 2020 10:07AMWe have changed our shopping behaviour very quickly. Signs, arrows, masks, sanitiser, warnings, have all contributed to spoil the experience of browsing in shops. Crowds of masked faces (some children) in shopping centres remind us that "Covid" is still all around us waiting to be inhaled.Until our leaders accept the truth that people dying with this virus are below the number who die of flu every year, we are stuck in this nightmare. We will never win against a virus. Protect the old, sick and vulnerable. Allow everyone else their right to LIVE.10LikeReplyTom Scott28 Sep 2020 10:38AM@Karen WilliamsI wish you were Prime Minister rather than Jester Johnson. | xxxxxy

28/9/2020 11:44 | alexgc. Just watched that video and it's disgusting. The BRAVE coppers beating women when they were taking the knee at the blm protest. Makes me sick and ashamed of what we have become. That protest was none violent before the cops waded in with their bully boy tactics...... shame on them indeed. | maxidi

28/9/2020 11:29 | meek, Got links to that claim masks are more likely to damage your health? Not seen any evidence of such in Taiwan,Thailand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong where infection rates are very low, deaths very low to non existent(eg Thailand) Why? Culture of wearing masks! Contrast to Europe and US. | geckotheglorious

28/9/2020 11:14 | There's also broad consensus that masks are more likely to damage your health than protect you against contracting COVID-19 | meek
28/9/2020 11:06 | There's broad consensus that properly worn masks offer protection against infection and transmission. We know little about when vaccines will become available or how well they will work. The answer to the mask vs. vaccine question is “both”; face coverings will remain essential in risky settings well into next year, even when shots become widely available. The 2020 case to keep masking is obvious; there won't be enough vaccines at first whenever one succeeds. Drugmakers are scrambling to manufacture shots, but leading candidates require two doses, and early supply won't match massive demand. The notion of wearing a mask post-vaccination may be harder to swallow. While vaccines are essential to beating the pandemic and saving lives, Redfield's point is that they aren't magic. Food and Drug Administration guidance says a Covid vaccine must prove 50% more effective than a placebo to receive approval. The main target for leading vaccine trials is preventing symptomatic disease, not infection. A vaccine may be approved without evidence that it keeps people from contracting or spreading the virus. Even if a vaccine is 70% effective in damping disease, a significant minority of those vaccinated will still be at some risk. Add the lingering possibility of passing the virus to others, and you get a compelling case to cover your face until its spread is firmly quashed.—Max Nisen | geckotheglorious
