19/3/2020 13:48 | Ever been to the money museum (or whatever it's called) in the city? You can look at a million quid in cash, and some big gold bars, but the main attraction is the history of how money evolved. You come out thinking money is a very strange thing indeed, unrelated to everything else. It's just confidence really. Confidence that someone will give you something you want if you give them a bit of paper. (Probably updated these days to you getting something if you point your phone at their thing). So not surprised every country can borrow, and keep on borrowing forever, and never pay it back. Weird init. Just electronic ascii codes these days. | pierre oreilly

19/3/2020 13:19 | Hhh it's the health officials that are dictating policy atm, wrapping us all up in Boris's cosy billions for rent mortgage subsidies and sick pay for all. When the dust settles the economists will get involved expect vat & tax rises. The money grab wont stop there.. the bank tax is surely round the corner, Lloyd's stuck in the doldrums for years imo. | utrickytrees
