DavePosted March 19, 2020 at 7:20 am | PermalinkIncredible that we have allowed an extremely mild strain of a flu like illness to paralyse the world. In the six months since this virus appeared about 9000 have allegedly died from it. In the same time a total of 1,437.300 people have died from all communicable diseases. So for every 160 deaths in that period only one was from this particular disease. 30 to 72 times as many die from flu every year. Are we really this stupid?

Yeah, great info. The old are more at risk, the young less at risk, and age doesn't come into it. Thanks.

Don't catch falling knives, no one ever gets the bottom right through judgement , we are living in very uncertain times and markets hate uncertainty. My approach is to wait until we have a proven curve reduction and then start to assess global financial markets and economies

China report no new cases apart from new arrivals . And there's the rub. How do China stop getting infected all over again other than by continuing lock down ?"

How do you know they have no new cases?
We are reliant on what a Communist regime is telling us - which is lie upon lie.

They lied about the death numbers. They lied about the number of infections.

And the rest of the world was complacent as a result.

Reality check The government all over the world give the impression to all of us only over 50s are at risk..The reality is, youths are at risk too. It's true, the virus effects faster older ages and the vulnerable, but..People must realise, age make no difference!

If a half depression (-5%GDP) comes to pass what effect on earnings? Talk of that here and in Germany. No doubt elsewhere as well.

That wasnt the angle Alp.

I used to live there in shared accommodation back in the day.

All young single adults, which was great. Most of them wimmin.

However, no one kept food or anything else in quantity. Buy as you need on a daily basis. Fine as long as the supplies are there for the taking.

Not now, empty shelves, shortages. What are young people to do?

I expect with a virus attacking the lungs, those who smoke are much more at risk. And the frogs smoke a lot. That could be a difference there.

Not only old people - French hospitals are now caring for 3,626 patients with Covid-19 in total; including 931 in intensive care, of which half are people aged under 60.
