18/3/2020 16:20 | Strix (KETL) come out with positive results. They make kettle controls. Yield 6.5% plus. Market dominant in world regulated controls and massive share in unregulated markets. Small cost, repeat purchase item with very high volume sales. Passes pretty much all the Buffett tests and is below intrinsic value which is about c150p on very conservative estimates. Manufacturing and OEM partners in China which are almost backup to 100% capacity. Just thought some of you might be interested whilst it is going for good value. | ![]() minerve 2

18/3/2020 16:12 | China reports new progress in drug, therapies against Covid-19 Researchers working at the drug centre for Covid-19 cure at a company in Wuqing District, north China's Tianjin Municipality. China has completed the clinical research of Favipiravir, an antiviral drug that has shown good clinical efficacy against the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, according to an official on Tuesday (March 17). - Xinhua/ANN BEIJING: China has completed the clinical research of Favipiravir, an antiviral drug that has shown good clinical efficacy against the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, according to an official on Tuesday (March 17). Favipiravir, the influenza drug which was approved for clinical use in Japan in 2014, has shown no obvious adverse reactions in the clinical trial, said Zhang Xinmin, director of the China National Center for Biotechnology Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology, at a press conference. More than 80 patients have participated in the clinical trial in The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, including 35 patients taking Favipiravir and 45 patients on a control group. Results showed that patients receiving Favipiravir treatment turned negative for the virus in a shorter time compared with patients in the control group. A multi-centred randomised clinical study led by the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University also suggested that the therapeutic effect of Favipiravir is much better than that of the control group. Favipiravir has been recommended to medical treatment teams and should be included in the diagnosis and treatment plan for Covid-19 as soon as possible, Zhang said. | ![]() stonedyou
18/3/2020 16:02 | Ok, we've all lost 100k, 200k 300k - do you think someone hasn't gained the amount we've lost? Panic suits some very well. If you have billions in stocks, and there's a possible panic, you can both sell lots and short lots and make a low risk few billion. Not everyone is trying to calm everything. Some will be subtly encouraging panic. And the uk gov are disinclined to stop shorting, which would make the instability much less. | pierre oreilly
