The Governments own man has just said they're "hoping" to limit the deaths to around 20,000.

I think that means we can easily multiply that figure by 10.

Sorry guys but this is real, time to take that head out of the sand........

Hopefully corona will not be as ad as 1918. One major difference with 1918 is media and the expectation that something can be done. Nothing can be done to stop as all catching it until a vaccine can be mass produced. Most won't know they have it.

However the real problem in terms of both immunology and society is an overeaction. The steps that are being taken across the world will lead to hundreds of millions of job losses for years - not weeks! Governments have to be seen to be doing something. Unfortunately that something kills society.

Better to have let it take its course and kill probably fewer people than normal flu and keep society.

Watch a zombie film to see what happens when the good will and novelty wears off ie after about 2 months. Sitting at home with no job no income and no food.

So what does this mean to stock markets and LLOY- who cares!

56 dead out of 60 million population does not make a crisis. The Madness is being Created. And the dead seem to have some connections with Italy. My views only.No Deal

Max - you can not be surprised? It was most unlikely to happen even if everyone was in full health; just insufficient time.

It is only a few fantasists on this thread who believed all will be done and dusted by June.

Suspect listening to US Press Conference... the market might make a good recovery in the next couple of days ... LLOY should follow if what I am hearing from the US is followed through.

Sorry tricky, the numbers I quoted were for UK deaths as opposed to worldwide. They are the figures presented by the Imperial College researchers who are advising Gov.
