Surely if you deem a share good value at a certain price, if it falls, you should be a buyer not at automatic seller. It suggests lack of confidence or inability to value shares. Surely the thing to do would be to improve that ability.

Minnie..I agree with that, especially on this occassion.

The reason I agree with your stance, is that the chinese have more or less halted the progress of the virus, it has taken since early December, we have far more knowledge on it now, so although bad, it may not be as bad as the meltdown we are now in.

Share prices may get cheaper, but the chances are the bottom is close and a lot of money will be made coming out of this.

There's expected to be a sharp increase in infections over the coming weeks, schools will soon be closed (possibly as soon as Friday) and the next step is the total lockdown which could also be anytime from Friday.

Once the above happens I'd expect another 10% - 20% to be wiped off the FTSE and then may indeed be the time to start bargain hunting, but really, who knows ??

Irrespective, there's major economic damage already been done which will take us (and everyone else) decades to recover.

I'm also pretty sure that Economic and Social models will have changed forever.......

yup, sure these Algo's can be 'persuaded' to trigger stop losses, (hypothetically of course)

The money package unannounced from the American government and our will have no imitiecly effects. The shares have some way to go before find a bottom base and recovery start. I expect 32p new found support to break and 28p next. At this point, I say, start buying. But taking the risk do not buy yet and somehow things change overnight and this is the bottom I am happy to pay 36, 38 and 42p

It doesn't help by people buying in and then setting narrow stop losses. Not intended as a personal dig gnr. :)

Algorithms can make easy meat of these actions and the SPs continue to fall aided by this poor investing activity.

K38, there are 2 reasons i bought these, (a) the financials are pretty good, the drop is purely market reaction, not Co. issues IMO, (b) i have spare cash that is doing precisely NOTHING in my Bank accounts, so put a little in Shares for long term. even IF they have gone ex divi , i really dont care, currently sitting on small profit, can only see upside from here.

The action is taken around the world, wrong or right, the damage is done... the number of deaths are not important any more but the damage the virus will have to the economies around the world. Shares still long way to go yet before found support.

A few dozen deaths is not a crisis. If I died I would not want the economy wrecked or people to be out of work and impoverished because of my death. Some perhaps most of those that die are health compromised anyway. Politicians need to get a grip on reality. So sad to see this Madness. Death does not mean Life and Living has to be destroyed. Quite to the contrary.Love and Peace.

Welcome back to LLOYDS!
Best of luck to you.
Whilst our LLOYDS should show good gains over the years to come but LLOYDS must
overcome 2 more hurdles; the national debt and Brexit!
and of course the balance sheet that we can't see in the LLOYDS cupboard.

In any event, your bet should turn out good!

Cheers

Are China lying and under counting deaths/cases?

1) Wuhan Crematorium.
30 furnaces. 1 - 2 hours to cremate each body.
Running 24/7 for several months.

Scenario A
2 hours to cremate one body, 12 bodies per day, per furnace = 360 bodies per day
2520 bodies PER WEEK.
3100 official deaths - Job done in 1.23 weeks.
Furnaces going 24/7 for 8-10 weeks

Scenario B
1 hour to cremate a body, 24 bodies per day, per furnace = 720 bodies per day
5040 bodies per week
3100 official deaths - Job done in 0.61 weeks!!!!
Furnaces going 24/7 for 8-10 weeks.

The death count doesnt add up on this basis alone....
That's before the mobile crematoriiums.
There were numerous "heat" maps that showed the crematoriums going 24/7

2) China shipped in mobile crematoriums.

3) It is widely accepted China are under reporting as they have changed the definitions/parameters of infected etc several time. This isnt even disputed by the mainstream.

4) 50% of populace isnt in Lockdown/Quarantine yet cases has remained stuck at 810000.

Totally unrealistic.

5) Communists have history of lying and under reporting fatalities because it makes them look bad.

See Chernobyl.

As I said, open your eyes. the Chinese numbers arent to be trusted.

Nor are the Iranian ones for that matter.

"any chance of facts to back up any of that ?"With Boris expecting min of 20 thousand deaths in UK alone don't you think the numbers they are reporting is fraud?
