If the government uses funds to support the banks then there won't be funds for other projects. QED.

The Boris plan is thinking ahead to totally remap the exit from the EU. The idea of a decision point in two+ month's time in June has been written by a fantasist - one of the many on this thread. Don't blame me - it was the leaves.

The government will underwrite all the big banks and even some of the smaller ones. There will be no liquidity problems.

Media do more damage in confidence than good. Need to shut down BBC and sky news for a month or two.

Anyway, off for a late breakfast - hot-cross buns and a cup of coffee.

It's called 'Whole of portfolio down 10% day". Wonderful.

I could escape this FUBAR and risk catching the virus or I could read my emails - one of which is a notification of my upcoming council tax bill.

LOL

Banks will do very well out of this crisis in the long run. All that "credit to get them through the worst of it" . The government will step in to undewrite vulnerable businesses in this crisis like airlines and even banks if necessary. It's not the same as 2008.

Manufacturing exports slumped to the lowest level in three years even before the coronavirus crisis hit the UK, as EU customers turned away from British businesses after the UK left the bloc in February. - FT

Don't blame them. Was to be expected, perhaps more to come.

Great call Brexit gammons!

Is Trump coming to save us? I don't think so.

Market cap now circa 23 B . So in other words it would take just over three years of profits to pay for it at these prices ! Crazy.
