If the ACE in 294350 refers to me as usual that is completely and utterly wrong. Our business (which if the wind turns to the right direction I hope to retrieve) does not buy in the EU though it sold almost everything in to it - as you will be aware we were members until 27 days ago!

I'll take weirdos and misfits over EU stooges and quislings every day of the year.

Did you not feel free over the last 40 years Crossing?
Of course you did, you really have been told what to think.
you have been connED and brainwashed.

in what ways did our membership of the EU. restrict your freedom?
don't let Farage out smart you.

Many of the young feel that they will lose freedom when we leave the EU.

You have swapped a 98% UK ruled by parliament, but about 2% shared sovereignty to reap huge benefits.

All so that you can let Boris (American born, until recently a USA citizen) and the eccentric unelected Cummings run the country.
Boris is of Turkish origin.

Your name is a misnomer. Do you really think that we'd have epidemiologists all over our TVs if this was nothing? The Spanish Flu had a death rate of around 2%, and killed 50m people. Wuhan Flu has only just begun, it's got a long way to go. And markets are not reacting to death estimates, they are reacting to the disruption to business and consumption. At some point this will be an opportunity, but not quite yet.

"ACE has a business that relies a lot on the EU exports to the UK. Professional kitchen equipment I think. So you can't blame him for being self serving I suppose.
However his suppliers must still want to sell their goods to the UK so why worry?"

Never in doubt.

Remainers all about their own pockets first and foremost.

I voted LEAVE despite knowing it was going to hit me in the pocket.

Why?

because I believe in the British people, especially those that have been screwed over by our 46 year EU membership. Our Fisherman, those at the bottom end of the educational ladder / employment opportunities spectrum..

And I detest being told 1) What to do, 2)What I should think 3) What I can say.

So laughably project fear lies made me more determined to both vote Leave myself, but to also encourage others to do similar.

Freedom is priceless.
Worth far more than money, someone serving us a pret, free roaming, or all that other guff we were peddled.

The stockmarket sell off will continue, the coronavirus won't be getting any better any time soon, as such the panic will ensure that the markets keep dropping and whether you believe the virus to be a genuine threat or not, is neither here not there, as the upshot will be a continued decline in shares which leads to people selling which of course just adds to the drop.......

Half the Airlines will be out of business shortly, so we'll not need to worry about a "third runway" for Heathrow.........

mm2 - very true! One reason why the Boeing Max needs to get sorted to handle the traffic increases - apart from keeping the company afloat.

And we are bothered about an extra runway!!! We need to save the planet!!

China currently has around 235 airports, but with many lacking the capacity to sustain the coming increase in passenger numbers and flights, government officials estimate around 450 airports will be needed across the country by 2035, and another 50 are being built right now.

Boris is acting tough as though he holds all of the cards.
'we shall fight on the beaches we shall never surrender etc'
what Winston meant was 'YOU will fight on the beaches...'

I wonder if the weekend press will cause a further Monday stock market capitulation.
it will be filled with gloom and doom after this de lux flu outbreak, seen it all before.

crashes often occur on a Monday, simple human nature.
investors get worried over the weekend and decide to bale out.
