US Federal Reserve cuts interest rates for first time since 2008 financial crisis

Richard Masters 31 Jul 2019 10:07PM

The 2008 financial crisis never went away and is now getting very much worse - hang on to your hats!

They can’t keep this asset pumping nonsense up until the November 2020 election.... something will have to give.

Meanwhile the Germans are sensibly scrutinising the ECB’s profligate money printing in the courts again.

It ended for the bankers in 2008 when they were given trillions of tax payer's money.

The misery continues for the poorest in society.

Understand Back door Boris has had a political wake up call on his visits this week . Coming out of the bubble will change his view , all this before he even sits with the EU.
I heard from friends , he was unaware of the goood Friday agreement clause. Within 24 hrs if UK forces Direct rule then they can vote to join the EU .

A lot of Tories not been doing their homework.

Referenda, what a headache.
So Boris has visited the awesome foursome, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

So Scotland is demanding a referendum in the event of no deal, which Boris has dismissed.
Now Ireland demand a referendum on unification, which could only end in one result.
Boris has dismissed.

Don't you just love this so called democracy.

Boris understands the mess that is caused when you give the great unwashed and ill informed a referendum

Farage, as I read it, has a solid following up to now of about 5m.
That was peak UKIP, and brexit in the recent, not too serious EU. elections.

We all had fun in that election, I voted Lib Dem to register my anti Farage vote.

Hard to analyse because noone of cares about the eu. elections, but Farage must have been disappointed at his showing compared to the back from the dead Lib Dems and Greens.
He was in effect beaten by remainers.

Tories and labour were humiliated.
but it was just a bit of fun.

I think that Farage support will fall now, he has had his day.
Boris, if he gets a deal will win remainers back to the Tory fold, and I know of many others who think like me.
The Brexit party will be finished if Boris gets a deal.

I doubt if Farage can get people wound up again on this issue.
People know the issues better and they are war weary.

they want this thing over now, 'just get the best deal we can and let us get out. We no longer care about this 'Vassal state' nonsense.
We now understand that if we deal with America we shall have no say at all about their rules.
People are growing up at last.

Theresa may was prepared to leave on March 29th 'come what may'.
But parliament would not let her do it.
She was forced to get an extension.

This time Boris will come out with a few minor modifications to mays deal, but staying in the customs union is essential if he wishes to keep the union together.

Kenneth Clarke always explained that the only sensible solution was to leave the EU. politically, but remaining in the customs union.

Boris has hinted of a change of direction with this customs union comment, and the extreme 'pure/clean' Brexiteers will be angry.

But they are a minority and this brexit thing has moved on.

Yes, have just picked up on this maxk, 'staying in single market and customs union for 2 years after 31st October' sounds like a significant shift 'from we're leaving the EU at Halloween come what may, no ifs or buts', unless I'm missing something. Hope Boris not wavering, he'll be out very quickly if he does.
