14/7/2019 21:26 | What is behind my thinking is the half year results are due early August but I don’t think PPI ends till 31 August so it is unlikely Lloyd’s will want to highlight too much and promote a last month rush of claims. However when we get the Q3 report I hope that they will be able to report on the final figures of total provision and total claims received leaving a decent sum to transfer back to general reserves. That ( and of course with no need for further provision) , combined with the share buybacks ( which have been significant in last quarter) and the improved performance of the MNBA credit card arm when taken together will hopefully improve their financial position significantly - the only major caveat being Brexit , but on which I am sure they have already made moves to manage as best as possible in the event of the dreaded no deal. I have been a general fan of the CEO and Board with the one exception of the decision to just settle PPI almost unchecked. Lloyd’s is my largest shareholding by far .Of course only time will tell but IMHO and glass half full attitude I will hold in expectation of in 24-30 months time the share price returning to the 80’s and dividends of circa 6p. Off to bed to dream ! | millwallfan
14/7/2019 21:22 | Should be ok then, I mean what's the odd half billion floating round somewhere in the coffers matter in the grand scheme. Maybe if they find it we'll get a special divi lol. Anyone have AHO's number...could give him a call tomoz. | cheshire pete

14/7/2019 21:15 | So England win a match on a technicality and we should use that to throw ourselves off the cliff. Clever! NOT. | minerve 2
14/7/2019 20:58 | Gaffer. Yes I’ve found that but it is the total current provision I am interested in - at one point I seem to remember there was something like half a billion set aside unused - but not sure on latest settled claims figures. | millwallfan
14/7/2019 20:27 | So England win the World cup on technicalities...not an outright win... Boris will be very happy...use the England win as a can do attitude with Brexit... | diku

14/7/2019 17:25 | Good question millwallfan, seems there've been several announcements for increased provisions for PPI since the decision to pay out was made. Get the impression that estimating the final PPI bill is a bit of a finger in the air job, if so hardly satisfactory. Let's hope that they've over-provided eventually. | cheshire pete
14/7/2019 17:10 | Grahamite’s argument that because recessions happen regularly it doesn’t matter if Brexit brings one on is like hanging yourself prematurely because people die anyway. L O L | minerve 2
14/7/2019 16:01 | Excuse my ignorance but despite a quick look at previous RNSs I cannot find an answer. With PPI coming to and end within weeks, does Lloyds hold a large ' earmarked reserve' to finalise claims which can then be returned to 'usable' reserves or have they only set aside the sum they believe they will actually pay out ( plus a small contingency)? | millwallfan
