Heck bangers.

"The pictures of the pro-Brexit Conservative Party leadership contender didn’t go down well with remainers who are now using the hashtag #BoycottHeck on Twitter."

That's Remoaners for you. Good job he wasn't visiting an erectile dysfunction establishment. That would have caused a dilemma.

I would suspect being a male and imagining f'king Edwina Currie is a little more palatable than being a female and imagining f'king Boris. LOL

Boris has inspired me;
I now how a positive optimistic upbeat attitude to my dull share portfolio.
All will be well, it is my attitude that has been wrong.

Hard-Brexiters are loonies.

Life is great, I think I will just chop off my leg because one of my ancestors is German. It's OK, stiff upper lip and all that.

Boris is optimistic and positive with a can do attitude.
That is great news, we have nothing to worry about.

You mentioned John Major and I remembered the Edwina Currie affair and now I've been sick in my mouth.

@Poikka

"Minnie must be sleepy this morning judging by the number of posts from last night. Sad and lonely and bitter - like so many Remainers."

No, reading the FT and in particular the record profits for one of my holdings. Yielding a 10% dividend and an initial earnings yield of c 14%.

@fatnacker

"The irony of minerve celebrating the result of a blocking tactic being won by just 1 vote is hilarious."

One vote more is still a win in parliament and at least it was voted on using information that wasn't lies eh?

John Major good guy. Take Boris to court.

You cannot just run things (a country) on optimism and hope as Watford found out in the FA Cup final. Being realist and pragmatic is more important.

The Remoaner sausage boycott shows the shape of things to come

Once reserved for heinous regimes, embargoes are now deployed on firms with the 'wrong' opinions

Earlier this week, a group of hardline Left-wingers and Remainers chose to channel the fury they usually reserve for metaphorical “gammon” – middle-aged white men – towards something closer to the real thing; Heck, a family firm that manufactures gluten-free sausages. Its crime? Hosting Boris Johnson at its factory. Just hours after pictures surfaced of the leadership hopeful posing with a string of sausages around his neck, Heck’s Google review rankings had plummeted after being bombarded with one-star ratings from “customers” who had stayed strangely silent before the furore.

Ladeside - "Why do we have German, French & Spanish products ??"

Well, personally, I don't. Things is, most of Weatherspoon's sales is probably beer, I don't think that many of their customers are too fussed about the origin of wine. Might be wrong.

In any case, TM is saying that if the EU causes any disruption to present trade, it'd be easily replaced.

Hopefully, Brussels will see sense, stop the "punishment" mentality, and come to a sensible arrangement. If not, no problem.

Because the amendment fails to explicitly state that it is designed to forbid the prerogative power of Government to prorogue Parliament it will likely be unable to be used as desired. Attempting to be too clever by half I’ve seen it described.

In any event, the government does not have that power. It resides with the one person who is above the law.

Meanwhile...it's about time John Major was committed. He has gone totally nuts.

"The LLOY BOD have introduced buybacks to try to stop the share price falling to 50p"

the 2018 divi was 3.21p, the share price was 63.5p on 28.02.19, the day before the buyback started. this gives a rough yield of 5.05%

£1.75 bio was put aside for buybacks, if this was used to increase the divi (to about 5.6p) we would be looking at a share price of over 80p imho, a far better way of supporting the share price (which of course would be better for their share options)

""Wetherspoon, for example, has made arrangements to replace French champagne and brandy, and German beer, with alternatives from the UK, Australia and America. In addition, most spirits and beer exports to the EU from non-EU countries are not subject to tariffs, in any event."

But there you have the whole crux of the argument. It's inferior.

If these "alternative" products were all so wonderful, why are they not on sale now ?

Why do we have German, French & Spanish products ??

Once again, he's answered his own question, the "people" (that's you and me), whatever way you try and dress it up will be worse off than previously.

Is that success ? Is that "taking back control" ?

Oh dear............

"Agree a fair, reasonable salary to start with."

The last FD I was associated with used to say "Fair" may describe colour of hair or skin but it had nothing to do with how we distributed profits!

Total ashole and died of a heart attack at fifty nine.

The LLOY BOD have introduced buybacks to try to stop the share price falling to 50p

IMO when the buybacks stop ... the market finds the real price anyway

It is just greed/ vanity that they want a bonus at all. Agree a fair, reasonable salary to start with. If they don't meet reasonable targets then replace.
