He said clearly , this is a referendum to leave or stay, no were on his speech said anything about negotiations because YOU DO NOT NEGOTIATE EXIT !! 04/4/2019 12:12 | I feel sorry for the kids with their futures shackled to the increasingly prescriptive and dominant EU...countries within it that are happy to have 20/30 /40 percent youth unemployment and think its more important to have a set of rules that stifle entrepreneurial spirit rather than encourage it. See the French in London ...for the outcome of France archaic approach, the hollowing out of many EU countries as their youth flee to the UK to enable them to start business and buy houses in a system backed by law rather than backhanders under the table A La span and France. | hernando2
04/4/2019 12:10 | "As a Scot and a Leave voter, I hang my head in shame at the SNP. I do not want independence as any Scot with a brain knows Scotland rely on the UK, almost all of our exports go to the UK. Sturgeon is a disaster, she is useless and a nasty piece of work interested only in her profile as the woman who wants to make us independent from the UK and dependent on the EU, what an idiot, the whole SNP are awful third rate politicians. I with millions of other Scots will be voting Tory come an election" Good luck with that Stewart !! I'm afraid you're in the minority in Scotland, there will be a huge landslide in favour of the SNP and Scotland WILL be independent within the next 5 years. As for calling NS useless, I can only assume you have not been following the events at Westminster recently !!! I can further only assume that you have no idea about the NHS performance in England as opposed to Scotland ?? Yes, I'm afraid you're in for a rude awakening if you believe the Conservatives have any chance of winning in Scotland......... | ladeside
04/4/2019 12:07 | k38, I am not saying a no deal Brexit can't happen. My comments are specifically in relation to the referendum in 2016 and that electors casting a vote can and should expect their Government to act lawfully. I am not going to make any further comments on this issue, except in relation to LLOY which is why I visit this board. Goldpig | goldpiguk

04/4/2019 11:47 | LADESIDE, I'm still the same man I was at 30, so are you, so is Corbyn. Grey hair may make one look like a harmless, cuddly grandpa but it doesn't change the essence of who you are. As to Gove promoting the Labour Party - what's changed there? | grahamite2

04/4/2019 11:29 | British civil servants have been offered mental health support to ease the stress of preparing for a no-deal Brexit, it has emerged. It was also reported that they have been reading the Lloyds ADVFN thread. | alphorn

04/4/2019 11:27 | Gpig Stop lying to the people.. if was true why they threatened us with a no deal Brexit ? | k38
04/4/2019 11:25 | graham, it's easy to come across as "extremist" when you're on the backbenches, however as a party leader you have to temper it and it's a whole different situation. As for looking back at the 70's, it was a different time and these guys were all young looking to make a name for themselves one way or another, the likes of Michael Gove was running around promoting the Labour party and Tom Watson was a leading light in the "Socialist Worker". How things have changed........... | ladeside
04/4/2019 11:24 | Extension after extension will solve nothing. These politicians are not good to clean pavements. BR-exit will succeed. | k38
04/4/2019 11:19 | Hi, I can't reply to all individually and don't wish to get embroiled in a legal discussion on Brexit. Those who say a no deal Brexit was voted for in the referendum are plain wrong. I a sure you have all read thoroughly studied Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty and the associated Article 218 (3). You will know that there is only one legal way we can leave. The Government has fully recognised this and has clearly stated its intention to act lawfully, which is what all voters should expect of their Government: This is on the Government website. "Exiting the European Union What is Article 50 and why do we need to trigger it? The rules for exiting the EU are set out in Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. This is the only lawful route for withdrawal from the EU under the Treaties." Link to Government website on leaving the EU. The voters were never offered a no deal leaving the EU option in the referendum as it would have been unlawful. I have long suspected this is why Mrs. May dropped the "no deal is better than a bad deal." When she came up with that nugget I suspect she didn't know. Goldpig | goldpiguk
