04/4/2019 17:20 | Yes! X/D today for 2.14p Why hasn't it dropped more than ^ ? More people wanted to buy it than sell it :) | jrphoenixw2
04/4/2019 17:14 | Okay, look. This is an emotional moment for all of us, all right? I know that. But let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly an important species we're dealing with here, and I don't think you or I or anybody has the right to arbitrarily exterminate them. | minerve 2
04/4/2019 17:12 | the buyback is restricted to £1.75bio, the purchase price counts towards the target, buying ex-div allows them to buy more shares, simples :) | likeawalrus
04/4/2019 17:08 | Definitely they will.. more than us. Their economy is in trouble already. | k38
04/4/2019 17:02 | Is it ex Divi today? Why has it not dropped 2p? | finkie
04/4/2019 16:59 | re: 3133. aka the bought-back shares are put into 'Treasury', hence presumably any div is simply paid to itself (ie LLOY). But to avoid any tax issues I imagine they cancel the shares pronto to fully reduce the 'shares in issuance' and avoid creating a looped but taxable income. ... Unclear, but I expect they'd have specified a cancellation mechanism when they launched the B-B plan. ... In parallel with this^ aim I cannot see the accrued div would impact the quantity of buy-backs. Ie perhaps the buy-back target-px range is set vs the underlying share price excluding any element of rolling/(increasing to XD) accrued dividend... | jrphoenixw2
04/4/2019 16:53 | Merkel on tv. Germans more worried about no deal that the UK are. Not that they will suffer any more than us. | careful
04/4/2019 16:51 | Careful - "What will we do after Brexit." Question should be, "Who/what will the BBC blame for any negative news". | poikka
04/4/2019 16:50 | I don't think that's correct.. I think the government doesn't bother to ask them to vote. | k38
04/4/2019 16:46 | k38 - just wondered - of course with UK most people abroad have no vote whether they like it or not. | alphorn
04/4/2019 16:46 | Minerve - "It is not Remainers' fault that you idiots had the wrong implicit idea of what Leave means." No, m8, it's a REMOANER'S fault, she who's lied to the Nation and refused to deliver Brexit. | poikka
04/4/2019 16:44 | Alp, yes I do. I use to vote every time till a few elections back. Now make no difference who is governing as orders come direct from Brussels. Soon will be thesame here if we stay, especially under TMs WA. | k38
04/4/2019 16:39 | as I predicted this morning, buyback has accelerated, 22.1m shares bought today | likeawalrus
04/4/2019 16:36 | Going XD seems to have woken MS up - they've bought 22m after a couple of weeks of only about 3.6m per day. | polar fox
04/4/2019 16:36 | "lose the right to vote" K38 - do you still have the right to vote in your country of origin? Genuine question btw. If so, do you vote? | alphorn
04/4/2019 16:31 | lithological heterogeneities - a good 'friend' of mine back from the OFEX days. | minerve 2
04/4/2019 16:21 | you missed the point. Whilst the shareprice is lower, the shares bought before the buyback no longer need the divi. There is not really much difference either way. | ekuuleus
04/4/2019 16:05 | Hi ekuuleus, the buyback can take place at a lower price hence they can buy more shares, but I guess in the great scheme of things they are more likely to be watching brexit, perhaps they are waiting for the share price to implode after a no-deal exit? Whatever the reason fairly low level buying considering the £1.75bio target | likeawalrus
04/4/2019 15:47 | Well done willoicc. 3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2 So much for goldpig. | grahamite2
04/4/2019 15:39 | See... what is good for us is good for them too, lolEuropean Parliament has approved measures to allow UK citizens to travel to EU nations without a Visa after Brexit | k38
04/4/2019 15:38 | Dont worry careful. We have the next GE due in 2022 latest to kick it all off again. | willoicc
04/4/2019 15:37 | He must be ancient, likewise you. | sux_2bu |
