Unfortunately there are no British volume producers of Gearboxes unless you want one for your formula one car. Years of political ineptitude saw to that.

The political system has not just been broken, it was never fixed , which is why this country is a sweat shop economy with low productivity. Don't blame the Europeans, they have looked after their big manufacturers which is why ZF who supplied your gearbox, and others like Bosch are the biggest automotive manufacturers in the world and why German industry prospers even though their wage costs are high.

Ford, Nissan, Honda, JRL , BWM , Airbus , Tata are all running down investment in the UK. The UK stupidly let go of their 20% stake in Airbus to which the fortunes of Rolls Royce are tied, so Rolls Royce is becoming ever more German in its makeup and I can forsee it will eventually move its civil aircraft HQ there.

Brexit will put the final nail in the coffin of UK Industry.

BeckiI am sure you know this is one of many tricks Brussels use to get what they want. Divisions, military tactics, mafia tactics, blackmail, ignoring you on their meetings, calling you names and so on...They've done great job on us and Parliament

Is he still on about cars?!!!

Well, pleased to say that the German gearbox in the Jaguar didn't miss a beat yesterday on the Autoroute de Soleil. Lucky it was not a British one from the posts above - it would have jammed in reverse. That seems to be the flavour of the last 24 hours in Westminster? Lol, Lol.

Just to make myself clear to certain people, that also applies to all the other EU car makers, and all other products made by EU27.

Unfortunately, Fords no longer made in Britain, though they do still make engines here.

I have a leak in my gutters. I put a large bucket below the leak and the water drip, drip, drips into the bucket.

At first you can hardly see the water in the bucket, but some days, when it rains fairly hard, the drips get quicker and quicker. After a few days the bucket is full.

German car producers will soon notice the leak in their sales if enough people refuse to buy their cars.

Careful "I read things differently"You definitely do, only if... You said, This is Grand Coalition politics.RUBBISH, this is not a coalition but a way for her to get the deal through. She only needs to convince, trick stupid JC.You said, What is happening today is historic.. Yes, a victory of J Corbyn and labour if he gets what his party wants. You say, A turning point in British politics.Indeed, democracy is dead and Britain becomes o colony to Germany.

TM must be the most politically naive PM we have ever had, either that or she has the worst advisors. Boris would not have run to Labour , he would have put his deal to the public vote and got all the monkeys off his back. Even if the deal was rejected and we stayed in the EU, any accusations of betrayal and being undemocratic would fall on deaf ears and he would keep his job as PM.

As he and all the other Brexit ministers have shown, when the going gets tough bail out and keep your reputation intact

I read things differently.
This is Grand Coalition politics.
It is practiced on the continent because overall majorities are very rare.

Maybe the shape of things to come.
Merkel was well short of a majority and took ages to form a coalition.

Think of wartime Britain.
A grand coalition, a mixed bag of toffs and working class trade unionists getting the job done.

What is happening today is historic.
A turning point in British politics.
The next election will be fought by various radical groups each after support on single issues.

It is the ERG that have forced this change, we must get used to it.

I agree with Becki.. Brussels don't give a sh@t about boycott or people's needs. This action will need 2/3 of population to have an effect. We have to make them to listen to us...We don't just vote and forget.. action right now is needed.

It could work k38 as, if Corbyn and Labour won't help her, she can then embrace no deal and put the blame on them and say I tried but they wouldn't help. Strange that only one resignation this morning too.

Wbecki:'I blame Gove for this Brexit shambles for it is because of him we got the choice of two useless overpormoted tarts in the run off - one who then folded, mysteriously.'

It was mysterious, one minute she was imperious as part of the LEAVE campaign then when she appeared outside her house to withdraw from race she looked a broken woman. Unbelievable change...think maybe she'd been got at."

I was astounded at the volte face as well.
Quite uncharacteristic. So clearly got at - question is by whom.

"I would ask everyone on here who voted LEAVE to reflect on the car they own. Where was it made. If it is an import, is it so much better than an equivalent car made in UK that you could not bring yourself to support UK.If you cannot buy British, why vote Leave?"

Range Rover and Ford Fiesta.
Both made in UK.

I concur with your boycott European products...my point was that the "Establishment" wont give a hoot and it wont encourage them to gives us the Brexit we voted for. Little will, short of the obvious.
